I wasn't sure what to expect with this film, but I really enjoyed it. It is filmed like a ''period drama'' and has some beautiful scenes along the coast in Cornwall. The acting was excellent and I definately recommend it.

I loved this movie. The acting is fantastic especially Janet Mcteer as Gertrude Lawrence. She made me laugh so much. I did not expect to feel this way; I almost forgot this was a movie. I do recommend to watch this movie, it is worth it!

Rated - 4 starsShould I be surpised?

A customer from England, London , 16/10/2008

The reason for my heading is that yet again the BBC has turned out a gem in the lesbian genre. Other companies out there should look at their formula and realize why it works - simply put it is not all about sex for a movie to be classified as lesbianism. I'm a huge fan of period drama sort of movies and this definitely fits that category. The storyline was unknown to me and thus fascinating, the acting as everyone agrees was superb (I agree about McTeer) and again, although the scenes again could be more intense it doesn't distract from the overall beauty and impact of this movie. Well worth the watch whether you are gay or straight and let's hope the BBC brings out the next one soon!
