Brief synopsis of Stuart Little 2

Lovable talking mouse Stuart Little (voiced by Michael J. Fox) lives with his human family in a quaint brownstone near Central Park in an idyllic New York City. In this sequel to the 1999 blockbuster, Stuart deals with growing pains. His mother (Geena Davis) is overprotective of her fearless minuscule mouse son who plays soccer, skateboards, and drives his own convertible to school. Meanwhile, his brother, George (Jonathan Lipnicki), is spending more and more of his time with his friends, leaving Stuart feeling deserted. Just when Stuart is at his loneliest, a lovely bird named Margalo (voiced by Melanie Griffith) literally falls into his life while she is being pursued by a vicious falcon (voiced by James Woods). Adventure and hijinks ensue when Margalo--who is not as innocent as she appears to be--disappears and Stuart vows to find her. Snowbell (voiced by Nathan Lane), the family cat, provides substantial comic relief. Hugh Laurie also stars as Stuart's levelheaded father, and Steve Zahn provides the voice for the scruffy cat Monty. Top-notch animation and a fitting voice from Fox make Stuart endearing and oddly human.

Rating of 3 stars out of 5 Radio Times

Despite lacking the wit that distinguished Stuart's first film outing, this amusing sequel will still appeal to those who were delighted by the original. In this adventure, Stuart (expertly voiced by Michael J Fox) falls for a flighty little bird, Margalo (Melanie Griffith), but doesn't realise that she's under the control of a villainous falcon (James Woods) and is actually after Mrs Little's wedding ring. Directed by Rob Minkoff (who co-directed The Lion King), this blend of live action and animation is technically superb — the scenes of Stuart whizzing through New York on a skateboard or in a tiny bi-plane are both exciting and convincing — but its real charm lies in the balance it maintains between enchantment and the everyday.

Ok, not as good as the first. The acting of stuart seems to surpass ALL the real life actors !

A good movie if you like the basic story line, occasionally funny but not as good as the first one.

Not as good as the first one, but that didn't stop my 2.5 year old nephew from thinking it was still pretty amazing.

This was way too short to be anything but a money grabbing sequel. The acting was fine , the storyline fine but at just over 70 minutes we really don't get enough time to bond with the new characters.

Worth a watch for the kids but your time can be better spent elsewhere.
