Brief synopsis of Project A - Part 2

Jackie Chan finds a new set of adventures as Dragon Ma, the only good cop in turn-of-the-20th-century Hong Kong. This time he's assigned to clean up corruption in a local town while getting involved with a band of rebels. Chan wrote, directed, and stars in this exciting mix of action and comedy.

Rating of 3 stars out of 5 Radio Times

Starting and finishing with the sequences of previous picture highlights and hair-raising set piece out-takes that have become a familiar feature of a Jackie Chan sequel, this rattling if rambling chop-socky adventure has all the action and slapstick we've come to expect from this unique star. Corrupt cops, spies, revolutionaries and pirates hurtle across the screen as Chan teams with the rebellious Maggie Cheung to confound bent bobby David Lam. The handcuffed fight scene is a gem and the final chase proves again that Chan is the true heir of the great silent clowns. For good old-fashioned escapism, Chan's your man.

Typical Jackie Chan early movie. Poorly dubbed - unless you forget to change the setting as the default is english subtitles!! Having said that it was a must see for any Jackie Chan fan, the action was non-stop and the story line was good, although very predictable. It's a shame that project A part 1 is not available as there are references to it in the film.

Another Jackie Chan Film which is just great. The action sequences are unique as with any Jackie Chan Movies. The film is packed full of action and comedy combined with the cleaver direction of the Man him self.

Not that good. There are few Jacky Chans better films. And we all have a different taste on comedy.

Jackie comes back to familiar territory by public demand for this one, but sadky without Sammo Hung or Yuen Biao.

This is still a quality action comedy, but it does not quite raise to the dizzy heights of the first film. Maggie Cheung, a regular in Jackie's films provides support, but sadly this film lacks the killer opponent for Jackie to fight. Relying more on comedy that serious fighting, this is still a great way to pass 90 minutes.

The obvious tribute to Buster Keaton at the end is a nice touch.
