Rated - 3 starsLost : Stay Lost

A customer from London , 20/07/2008

Presentation 7 (does capture the essence of the tv show)

Gameplay 3 (very linear game...not much else to do)

Sound 5 (voice acting 1...music and effects 9)

Graphics 9 (island is beautiful and the characters are well rendered)

Lastability 2 (play it in 4-5 hours...get 1000 gamerpoints...finished...!!)

Overall a good game done badly...playing it on XBOX 360 and actually achieving ALL 1000 gamerpoints for 5 hours game play is not a bad rent...plus its enjoyable.

Rated - 1 starsblasphemy!

A customer from Selkirk , 04/03/2008

as a huge lost 'fanboy' i was excited for this game but no matter how much i loved lost i could never love this game. its TERRIBLE! i bought it the day it came out and i sold it 2 days later as id already completed it. it takes roughly 4 hours if not less to complete and the majority of that is spent watching awful, unskippable cutscenes. graphically it isnt too shabby as the jungle looks nice and realistic. the cut scenes however are dreadful. voice acting is wooden and laughable at times. the cut scenes have awful graphics with tons of clipping and they have a terrible script to boot. gameplay - there's none! most of the game is spent watching cutscenes or walking along the beach or round the jungle. there are a few 'puzzles' involving fuse boxes which form the bulk of the gameplay but in any other game they would be mini games that take no more than a matter of minutes. other than that there are i.q questions and 2 chase sequenes, one with the black smoke. this 'game' has no substance and barely skims over the storyline of 3 seasons of lost. This is the biggest letdown ever and if i knew there address i would send hatemail to the makers of this game because i feel utterly cheated by them. This isnt even worth a rental unless you care about achievement points as they are very easy to get. UTTER GARBAGE!

Rated - 5 stars5 stars because of how surprised I was

the Lost game, I was pleasantly surprised, I get to play a lot of games and I figure since i'm going in to a games design degree I shouldn't just rent the games that get great reviews but I should play the ones everybody thinks will suck.

Trust me Lost is not a game I would ever consider buying, but rent for the sake of research? might as well. The game actually plays really well. If you're a fan of the series (i'm not but i've had to watch it with my girlfriend so I get all the references) it would actually be awesome, there are a few points throughout the game where it comes up with the LOST logo and goes 'previously on lost' and shows a montage of cutscenes from the section you've just played through, this really helps to keep the atmosphere of the show and I was very impressed how much it seemed like you were part of the lost series throughout the game. The characters were written to have the same personality and suspicions they would on the show and it's all very neatly tied in with the plot.

John locke still seems his hardman hippy self, Jack and Sayid have a habit of overeacting, Kate always giving people the benefit of the doubt and Hurley even cracks a joke or two, the story (if you consider it's trying to be like the show) is very well done and I'm ashamed to say I was actually enjoying myself by the end of it, just like all the reviews said it's a very short game and really did last 6 hours... almost bang on to the minute, but then if you consider that each 'episode' within the game takes about 1 hour to complete... that's pretty much half a season of lost right there.

The graphics are beautiful, I never really got what the reviewers were saying about how pretty it looked because the vids I saw never did it justice, if you get to see the game running you'll understand what I mean.

it's more of an interactive story than a game though, but lets face it there's not much actual action in the series is there? it's all just wandering through the jungle going 'i think we're being watched' in hushed voices while trying to decide whether or not to enter those numbers. so the game has very little in the way of gun fights or any kind of fights for that matter, it's probably a good thing though. running around duel wielding machine guns and bitch slapping that smoke monster would probably take away from the lost atmosphere.

Way too short to deserve the price tag however so it's a rental only, oh and if you're obsessed with that meaningless gamerscore it's easy to rack up the points.

(review ripped from my gametrailers blog where i'm documenting my gaming experiences and review style changes over the next 3 years as part of my games design course)

Rated - 3 starslost my will to live......

I've been a pretty big fan of show right from the begging and this game was just a totally unnecessary attempt to make more cash from the franchise, you can't really even call this a game, for one thing you can easily complete it in one sitting and also all you do is mainly walk/run from one part of the jungle to another speaking to the poorly voiced poorly animated cast of the show and then walk/run to where they tell you to go and then you either have to do some annoying fuse related puzzle or pick something up to take back to one of the characters, apart from that you have to run away from the black smoke twice and you can pointlessly trade items with certain people to get guns (which you only get to fire about 3 shots from in the whole game) or torches or what ever....Oh, yeh i almost forgot about the totally crappy flash back sequences where you have to take a photo at a certain time in a constantly repeating scenario. The graphics are outstanding but thats as good as it gets, it's probably the easiest game ever to get game score on so i guess that's a reason to rent it but apart from that there's no other appeal to it. It isn't an awful game but it just feel like a chore to play and there's no real purpose to it.

Rated - 1 starsDon't get your hopes up!

A customer from Swindon , 18/07/2008

Where should I start? Lost Via Domus is the easiest game I have ever played. There are no real challenges at all, and this poor element of it's gameplay isn't helped by the repetitive fuse box puzzles and pointless (and simple) IQ tests. If I'm honest I was glad to see these puzzles for they signified a break from the endless cut scenes and dialogue which do not do the series justice. The story line for the new protagonist wasn't bad; several shocks and twist to the background of the character where indeed quite interesting, but writers of the game have skipped through the events of the Lost's three seasons in a just 7 short, and disappointing, episodes, leaving massive gaps in time with little explanation. Matters are made worse with the utterly laughable conclusion to events in the final episode of the game. I won't spoil it for anyone considering to give this game a go, but just don't get your hopes up for an incredible ending that any Lost fan could be proud of.

Gamer points fans will be pleased - an easy 1000 points in roughly 6 hours - or I've been told useing a walkthrough guide can get you through it in 4 hours, but be prepared to sit through 2/3s of that time watching cutscenes.

1 star gameplay

1 star story

2 star graphics

Overall a disappointing 1 star, for a game I thought would do better.
