Brief synopsis of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008

Key to PES 2008 is a proprietary adaptive AI system entitled Teamvision - an advanced AI programming that learns and adapts according to an individual's style of play. Teamvision will build attacks and counter specific movements such as previous attacks or defensive errors, ensuring games are more in line with the real thing. Set-pieces have been improved with the addition of a number of new options, including full control over the number of players and the position of the defensive wall.

With the Pro Evolution Soccer series renowned for its fluid, realistic gameplay, PES 2008 builds on the implementation of Teamvision with additional key advances The new AI ensures that defenders work to close down space and block efforts on goal, with shot timing still left entirely down to the player. Close control has also been enhanced when dribbling the ball, and a number of subtle moves added to bypass defenders and move the ball into space.

Player detail has been taken to incredible levels in the Next-Gen versions with full facial animation and the high-definition detail afforded by the hardware used to show full movement and subtle details.

I don't understand why there is a need to call Man RED and not Man United when all the name players are correct. The same for other

teams. The controls could have been better...

I already have the Xbox 360 version of this game but was enticed to try this by the control system on the Wii version

Truth is it adds very little, if anything, to the game and is desperately let down by extremely substandard visuals.

If you have the choice plump for the Xbox version - it's by far the better version of the two

Rated - 3 starsGreat Idea, Poor execution

I like what the makers are trying to do with this game, making it different from your standard football games by tailoring the controls for the wii. But the problem is I dont think they have thought about it enough, and although its not too bad once you have mastered the control system, I believe they could have done it a lot better. Being able to control any player on screen, whether or not he is in control of the ball is a great idea, but what lets it down is the level of control you have over the player with the ball. Worth renting, but I got bored after a week.

Great game to play, and took a little while to get a hang of the controls & movement of players. As others have said the graphics are not as good as on other consoles....well if i wanted better graphics then i would buy a PS3 or Xbox 360!!
