Brief synopsis of Call of Duty: World at War

Powered by Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare technology, Call of Duty: World at War brings an uncensored edge to combat, as soldiers face the most harrowing and climatic European and Pacific battles in which an enemy, who knows no surrender and no retreat, will fight to the last breath, unleashing an arsenal of lethal surprising tactics. Peril and danger lurk throughout the battlefield as players combat the unknown risk of the new chaos of battle.

From the remains of Russia and the ruins of Berlin, to the beach and jungles of the deadly Pacific Theater, the volatile action takes on added depth as players employ new features that previously were only available in multiplayer, including perks, rankings and online stats in up to full four-player co-operative gameplay. New infantry and vehicle-based weapons, like the potent flamethrower, bring the battlefield ablaze.

Rated - 1 starAvoid, CoD4 wannabe

This game is typically call of duty 4, but just set in WWII!

When i was playing the beta, i found that every thing is just basically the same as cod4, they have only took around a year to develop this which tells you something and for all the idiots here it has been rushed! Online mode is crap and thats giving it a bit of leanway with it being only a beta but dont waste your time or money when its released and stich to GoW 2 when that comes out!

Or alternintavely wait until CoD6 comes out as i think that will be the one too watch!

ive just played the beta and the mutiplayer is just like cod4 but with vehicles, so in my book its better. You get all the perks and rankings that you did in cod4.

I really enjoyed this game! Obviously i started out doing the story mode which i enjoyed alot i liked alot of the features and prefered the weapons to the previous cod game. As everyone is saying it is alot like cod 4, alot of the features seem similar, but for people moaning that its too similar, they even said this when they released it, and its not cod 5. I presume they will bring cod 5 out in the future.

But yes i really enjoyed both aspects of the game and have completed it twice whilst renting it, although i would recommend playing it on hard if ur a serious gamer as i found normal was a bit easy and completed it in under two days.

For me the best feature was the online mode, obviously if youve played cod 4 its again very similiar, but the fact that you earn better weapons and better add-ons etc as you go along makes the game annoyingly addictive, and personally i dont really wanna send the game back. so therefore i think ill be buying my own copy, which i rarely do after completing.

But yea overall VERY good game, i loved ittttt and defiantly one of the best 1st person shooters out at the moment.
