Brief synopsis of Bioshock

BioShock is a revolution in the shooter genre that will forever change the expectations for the FPS. Going beyond "run and gun corridors," "monster-closet AIs" and static worlds, BioShock creates a living, unique and unpredictable FPS experience. BioShock is the Shooter 2.0.

After your plane crashes into icy uncharted waters, you discover a rusted bathysphere and descend into Rapture, a city hidden beneath the sea. Constructed as an idealistic society for a hand picked group of scientists, artists and industrialists, the idealism is no more. Now the city is littered with corpses, wildly powerful guardians roam the corridors as little girls loot the dead, and genetically mutated citizens ambush you at every turn.

Rated - 4 starsGreat for one playthrough

Awesome game, one of the best storylines in a game I've ever experienced, better than a lot of movies too.

However, after one playthrough, there's little incentive to play again, especially since you can get the platinum trophy with just the one go.

There is some DLC coming soon, maybe that will give some more replayability.

Definatley a rent, I wouldn't buy though.

Rated - 5 starsBrilliant game

I LOVE this game. Im not a massive gamer having only discovered its joys a year ago. Im not even that good at first person shooters as my scores on CoD4 will attest. But this game hooked me from the opening stages, and didn't let go till I completed it.

It's stylish, atmospheric, unique and well thought out. I would happily have lived in Rapture before it all went a bit bonkers, and hope one day to visit again when things have calmed down and there is less chance of being butchered.

Rent this game. You won't regret it.

There is so much content in this , the enemies are unforgiving and the atmosphere is parrallel to Dead Space . If you collect all the tape recordings along the way you cant help but get drawn into the intensity of it all ~ Fantastic .
