Brief synopsis of Little Big Planet

Imagine a world that's yours to shape, build and explore. Imagine the possibilities, then jump head first into the reality. LittleBigPlanet puts the power of absolute creation into your own hands. If you can see it, you can enhance it. If you can't see it, you can invent it.

Rated - 3 starsDifficult and over rated.

I really don't know why the press are soo all over this game - it is over rated.

First this is one of those games where timing and accurate use of the analogue controls is critical. Push a joystick too far and you will land wrong.

Second I don't get what all the fuss is about the 'real physics' engine. This is just Lemmings with better graphics and less character abilities.

You start at the left of a level and progress to the right collecting things and avoiding dangers *yawn*.

Finally the level has three plains, and moving between them, and knowing which plain objects are on as you approach them is difficult. It is hard to know what are decorative characters in the background, and which ones you can interact with.

Also when you die the level doesn't reset itself. Say you pull a vehicle down hill and it rides off without you there is no way to try again.

LittleBigPlanet is a revolutionary game, where you can customise and make EVERYTHING. and it's so good, even sony is adopting the sackboy (LittleBigPlanet's characters) as their mascot. So it MUST be good.

I've pre-ordered it, i advise you to do the same

Rated - 3 starsGood, but vastly overrated.

NOT A FANBOY from Reasonville , 25/11/2008

Fortunately, I am a casual gamer with both an Xbox 360 and a PS3, so I have the luxury of being completely impartial.

You may notice that previous reviews have been plagued by ps3 'fanboys', who have predictably given it praise. However, an important lesson for fanboys, you cannot review a game BEFORE IT HAS BEEN RELEASED.

I play all games, regardless of format, with an open mind, and this is massively overrated. It is not without charm with its graphical style, but the story mode can be blitzed in under 5 hours. An important point here is that not everyone has the time to make their own levels. If I'm paying money to rent or buy a game, I want developers to make the game for me.

If this is Sony's attempt to save the failing PS3 audience, they have my sympathy. There is no way that this basic, twitchy, 2d (ish) platformer can compete with the Xbox's line up.

Having both consoles, I don't care which one sells the most. I can play games on each. But as far as I can tell, the PS3 will carry on playing second fiddle to the Xbox as long as they rely on quirky games with no substance, like this one. And for those who spend day upon day in their room making levels for this game, go out and find a girl to kiss or get some fresh air.

Definitely rent this game, because most people will, like me, have no use for it after a few hours.

Rated - 5 starsLittle Sick Planet.

little big planet has revolutionised the concept of adventure gaming. In all the perfect platform experience.

a creative world of fun, exploration and mind boggling puzzles.

The creators of Little Big Planet have succesfully developed a game which is not only an up beat , easy playable game for the younger generation but has also the depth to apeal to an older audience, using a mx of quirky music, imaginative levels and multiplayer attributes which can envolve the whole family. The game play is remarkable, the way your character can rome freely through - out the game is very life like and the use of collectable items, and achievements can have you playing the game for hours on end.

another added feature is the online mode which can have you competing to all players from around the world having you playing for that one perfect run to have your score battling at the top of the leader board.

this game has captured the imagination of everyones little big planet out there and if at all one criticism it isnt long enough, but again they have combatted this by allowing you to create your own worlds to publish on the net. so not only are you viable to play the levels which are created by little big planet itself but 1000s of other levels with 1000s of variations to keep your brain stimulated for ever. this is not a game which is played, finished , and sold. but one which is played, loved and enjoyed for many years to come. the possibilties of little big planet are endless.

I would advise all of you out there to purchase this game and you too will be lost in the weird and wonderful world that is.. little big planet.
