These games are written specifically for the Wii, and the uses of the remote/numchuck are inventive and excellent. The graphics are bright and clear and fairly interesting. You can't use Miis. Instead each player has to use one of a selection of 'celebrity' avatars, which are represented as cartoony, Thunderbirds style figures. I didn't care for them much, and a 7-year-old deemed them ugly. Other celebs are competing against you. Despite being designed specially for the Wi, there's very little physical interaction - mainly you can do it all sitting down and manipulating the remote. Out of 12 options, my wife and I were able to find a subset worth playing, but we quickly got bored. We would have been happier playing just against each other, instead of with a frantic bunch of spare celeb avatars muscling in all the time. My 7-year-old test subject quickly tired of it. The 11-year-old said 'you could buy it, I suppose, but don't waste more than a tenner on it.' Bottom line: Make sure you rent-and-try before you buy.

Excellent family game: kids really enjoyed the variations, in different sports, and the stars involved. They got to grips with downhill ski-ing, and horse racing, the graphics are also pretty good.much more user friendly than most games that we have used to date.
