Brief synopsis of Resistance 2

Picking up immediately where Resistance: Fall of Man concluded, Resistance 2 follows Nathan Hale as he finds himself once more in a world transformed by war and invasion. Undaunted by their defeat in London, the Chimera have continued to advance and are now poised to attack the United States. Entire cities have been leveled and communities annihilated. In this war where the odds are so heavily stacked against the human race, few are left who are willing and able to fight. Fortunately, Hale is not alone. A group of super soldiers known as the Sentinels will fight alongside Hale as they collectively attempt to thwart the inevitable.

Players will once again step into the war-torn boots of Nathan Hale, who not only faces near impossible odds on the battlefield, but also constantly struggles with the Chimeran virus raging inside his own body. In addition to an epic single-player campaign, Resistance 2 offers a truly unprecedented eight-player, class-based online co-op campaign with a separate, parallel storyline and 60-player online competitive multiplayer built upon a massive battles, greater intimacy mantra.

Can't wait for this game to be released, the first one was amazing and really showed what the PS3 had to offer with it's exclusive games.

Good;

The 1 player game is astounding, the gfx are great, monsters increasingly dramatic and the storyline is in depth and captivating. 1p mode is easily the best feature this game has to offer and is even better than the great 1p game on Resistance FoM.

Bad;

This game is BADLY let down by the multiplayer game.

There is no conventional 2player mode, just a Co-Op online mode that can be played offline with 2 players. However offline as the challenges and maps are meant for upto 8people doing it with 2 (and only 2 of the 3 classes) is practically impossible.

Online multiplayer is equally bad, the maps are overly large and confusing.

The ranking system only updates every few days so you can play for a whole night and not see a rank change.

Higher ranked players get overly powerfull upgrades that make you nothing more than cannon fodder at lower ranks. 60 people on a map seems like a good idea but in practicality it's just a frag fest where every time u move above the map u get sniped by 10+ people.

The damage system is complicated and nonsensical; you can put an entire clip into someone point blank and not kill them yet they can turn and if lucky kill u in 2 shots.

Overall this game was a huge dissapointment as it could have been truly epic, worth a rent just for the 1p mode, but thats the only saving feature of this title. Me and 5 others I know bought this on the day of release and had been anticipating it for months. All of these people have now either returned it or sold it pre-owned.

Rated - 4 starsvery good story driven 1st person shooter

This is a very good story driven 1st person shooter. Apart from some cool weapons, theirs not much new here, however the whole game has a charm to it and it reminded me of the first time I played quake where the gameplay just felt right. The games feels like a high budget action movie with fantastic art design and good but not ground breaking graphics. I really enjoyed playing through this game and found it hard to put down. Recommended!
