Brief synopsis of Dark Messiah of Might And Magic: Elements

In Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, players will be introduced to the world of Ashan, the new setting for all future Might & Magic games. Ashan is a dark and unforgiving world, scarred by a bloody history and threatened by an apocalyptic prophecy: the Dark Messiah. Players will embody the young hero Sareth, who has been trained in the arts of magic and war in order to battle the prophetic Dark Messiah. Players will have the choice to become expert warriors, mages or assassins, each with their own cache of devastating weapons and spells to use in battling huge and vicious enemies. Through combat, players will unlock new skills and equipment, advancing Sareth's experience and improving his performance, battle combos, hits, spells and techniques and setting his course for his destiny.

didn't think this game was out until mid oct? The videos and gameplay footage look good, but not sure which I would prefer between this and Two Worlds.

I've only played the demo but, what I did play was terrible. It was very glitchy (which I put down to it being a demo) but graphically it was more last generation than next. With the likes Halo 3 and now the excellent Call of Duty 4 available, this game needs a lot of work to come up to their standards. Shame really, I was looking forward to it. Download the demo of Xbox Live and you'll see what I mean.

I rented this game as I am really into RPG's but wasn't convinced this game could live up to the high standard that has been set by Oblivion, which it doesn't. In every way. Everything from the graphics, gameplay, and controls is has just the feel of something thats not quite finished. Stay away or get Oblivion which with all the expansions will keep you engrossed for days. Don't settle for second best

Rated - 2 starsWanted to like it a lot more.

Lets get one thing staright from the off: This is not an RPG. It was when it was released on the PC, but it has been dumbed down for the console versions. Its now basically a first-person action/adventure game.

I wanted to like this game a lot more. Its by no means a terrible game, and I actually quite enjoyed playing as an assassin and taking people out quitely, or kicking people off edges/into fire/into spikes with the decent physics engine in the game.

Unfortunately, it is a bit glitchy, with the occassional freeze-up, enemies stuck in walls etc.... nothing major, but its there. I suppose my biggest complaints would be that things drag on a bit. The story was better than it first seemed, but going through one massive cave of a level that takes 2 hours to complete just started to get very boring. There are a few others levels like this that seem to go on forever. Fighting is a key part to the whole game, and while there are multiple wweapon types, magic spells etc.... the action quickly becomes a bit stale once you relealise you only really have 2 attack types: quick, and the power-strike. You have to kill hundreds of enemies throughout the game pretty much just using these.

Its not a bad game, but its just not that good. [and the online multiplayer is completely dead, so you cant get a match going there]

Rated - 1 starDull Messiah

A lot of people say its oblivion wannabe but its not even close. Its a dull 1st person hack and slash with standard level design (eg get to point B with no choices like oblivion) set in sword & sorcery fantasy world.

The graphics are out-dated and have not been updated from its PC release (the textures are poor), also a lot of bugs/glitches have been added which the developer/publisher have not fixed still. By the start of Chapter 6 I was so bored I sent it back
