I have always been a fan of the FIFA, way back since the days of '95 on the Mega Drive.FIFA 09 does not disapoint, outstanding graphics and great game play. The new 'Be A Pro' feature is great, you create a player and choose a team and work your way from a reserve to a club legend. The 'Manager' mode has also been improved.Definetly worth the rent! 5 Stars.

This game is excellent at the start but after a season or two on manager mode it becomes very repetitive unless you really love these types of games.Apart from this, this game is fantastic and really enjoyable online, and to play against friends

Fifa 09 isn't like any other fifa it has much more realistic achievments and has a better gameplay there is some dissapointing parts such as on fifa 08 when you pass the ball they dont attempt to run for it and the ball always gets intercepted there is still about of that on fifa 09 but well worth the money definite buy. There is a lot of reasons fifa beats Pro and one of them is Pro is not up to date as man utd do not even have berbatov he is still at tottenham.BUY FIFA 09 NOW

This game is very good, I have always been a Pro Evolution fan however this game has so much to offer and it is even better when playing it with friends. They have clearly worked on improving thegameplay and the functionality of the game itself. This is something that i believe pro evolution has failed to do. The additions such as the live league updates and the manager mode are exceptional.Simply Briiliant!

As a former PES fanboy, I was pleasently surprised by EA Sport's latest Football (it's football, not soccer) title. I'm going to throw this right out their, this game in terms of realism, gameplay and modes is the best simulation of the beautiful game ever made. For anyone looking for a game that immerses even those who do not like football, FIFA 09 is a must try, although with FIFA 10 just round the corner, you may want to wait and pick that up instead as it's looking rather exciting.

The never ending 'struggle' between FIFA and Pro Evo is now over. I owned every Pro Evo from 3 to 2008, and where Konami shot themselves in the foot with unplayable online multiplayer, that they refused (yes, refused...many emailed them and they said they were not going to release another patch) to fix, and barely improved gameplay/graphics, EA, with FIFA, have gradually improved gameplay, graphics, online, physics, content to a point where it is nigh on a perfect representation of the beautiful game. Yes, you'll still have 12-0 games on the easiest level, but you'll score each one realistically, and it'll still look great. The Gameplay - Usual controls, A is shoot etc., but you can customise, players move according to your motions, smoothly, and passes, most of the time, go in the direction you want them to go, shooting is easily done, but easily messed up, so skill is required rather than just whacking the button, so overall an enjoyable experience.Graphics - Players look like their real-life counterparts, created players look good, pitches/stadiums look great, with shadow/floodlighting making it look more realistic.Sound - Usual commentary, wide library of comments by Martin Tyler and Andy Gray, WAY better than Pro Evo's, that I used to mute to shut them up!Online - Perfect, lag-free, many, MANY different online types of game. Now the best bit - Be a Pro. This is a mode where you control 1 player in a team, can be created or established. You start in the reserves if you're a created, and build up your character. The gameplay is excellently done, with the camera zooming in when the ball is close and wide when it is elsewhere. When you are sprinting towards the goalie, you get a close up, 'running' style camera that easily lets you judge when to let rip with a top corner screamer. Eventually you'll be a legend for club and country, and feel satisfied, but then...take this character online! Wow! Brilliant!Worst bit - Same as most football games ever made - when opponent is sprinting towards your goal and you take control of a player nearby, they just stop. leaving your opponent an extra 0.5 sec to get ahead and slip the ball past the keeper :(Add in manager mode, 11 vs 11 online Be a Pro (OMG AWESOME!), lounge mode, online leagues, authentic licenses for many many leagues/teams and much more, and you've got wow, yes, just wow.Graphics - 9Sound - 8Gameplay - 9.5Longevity - 10 (well, till FIFA 10 :D)

THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST FOOTBALL SIM ON ANY CONSOLE TO DATE, FULL OF ATMOSPHERE, SLICK PLAYER MOVEMENTS, GRAPHICS AND ONLINE PLAY, COMPLETE LINE UPS, KITS, STADIUMS, EVEN THE FOOTBALL CHOICE IS LARGE. COMPLETELY FLAWLESS. WELL WORTH THE BUY/RENT, WILL GIVE YOU HOURS OF JOY, FOR YOU AND YOUR MATES. EXCELLENT

Very good visuals, amazing controls and gameplay... just top notch.But...Online is vunerable to cheaters. There is a move that teleports players in to instant sprinting and can cause problems in defence. I've seen it a few times and it 'will' be used against you by Man-u Repeaters. However it is great to beat Man U clones with Hartlepool United.
A customer from Wigan , 10/01/2009
Very good game some new things like be a pro seasons, 10 vs 10 online team play, 10 vs 10 set up your own club online. Only thing I don't like about the game is on 10 vs 10 online play they have taken out extra time and penalty.

The grafix and sound were great and the little touches in the crowd were brill, but the game play was not so good just the same as the last one, liked the score against the goalie bit but becomes boring after a while.Just another footie game to fund the rich footie media & players, make one where you can shoot them if they don't play well, now theres a game
