I was waiting for this game since the moment I heard about it. I literally couldn't wait so when I saw it on it's way to me I was very excited. From the moment I put it in my PS3 I was in love. This game is an absolute masterpiece and should be a rental to any Batman fan or non fan. Visually this game is stunning, from the buildings to the enemies. You'll see some amazing landscapes in this game, good enough to say they look realistic. Batman's suit looks great and you'll see the damage on the suit as time goes on. Enemies look pretty decent as well, whether it be Joker or a random thug, they all look great. Ivy was nicely done as well. The asylum is huge and allows you to really explore the are freely so you're not confined to one small building like other games. Combat, wow is all you can really say. The freeflow combat system is simply wonderful. Moving from one thug to anotherm, using counters and a vast array of Batman's gadgets at your disposal. Story is another great part of this game. This could easily be turned into a movie, that's how it really is. Each villain is given so much character, rather than just a little piece here and there. I found this really great to be honest. I'm fed up of games that give you little insight as to what you're doing and find yourself bored. This game delivers an amazing story =D Another great thing about this game is the extras, running around solving riddles, collecting trophies and then the great combat challenges and predator challenges. So with this, the game allows you to play for hours on end without running out of things to do. I will flaw it, I hated the loading times, going from one side of the asylum to another would sometimes cause loading times, yes I'm impatient like that. The lip sync on the game isn't very good either, but you can get passed that so it won't be a problem. So all in all, a must rent and hope you enjoy the game as much as I did.

This game does not disapoint in anyway at all.Batman and other character models have been crafted to look as hard wearing and detailed as they possibly could be.Familar villans like poison ivy and Harley quin make their entry as the joker takes over.Using a simple but devistatingly painful looking combo system, batman can disable hoardes of the insane and joker minons. He can also use stealth by using the enemy's fears against them, staying on high platforms and taking them out one by one.Batman also has his detective skills, which using the coul of vision (his mask), he can see through walls and search crime scenes to track down clues, such as trails of smoke or fingerprints. This game is a must for anyone looking for a brawler, or even for those who like a challenge of the mind - as the riddler puts trophies and puzzles to solve in every zone!

Truely awsome game. Excellent graphics, gameplay and soundtrack perfectly acompany this involving and addictive addition to the PS3 line up. Basic controls enable you to string together combo's and emmerse yourself in the Arkham world.Without a doubt, he best comic book game that PlayStation's ever had.....if not any system. Very highly recommended.

After your first session on this game you'll probably be telling your friends how amazing it is, but once you go back for a second sItting, you'll soon be rolling your eyes and getting bored, with the game only holding your attention due to the fantastic graphics. I completed 7% of it and sent it back. There's only so many times you can get excited at a 'silent takedown' or 'grapple'. BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comic-book based games are traditionally pretty mediocre but Batman: Arkham Asylum doesn't follow that tradition. With excellent graphics, gameplay and an interesting storyline Batman: Arkham Asylum is easily the best comic-book based game ever. The gameplay is an excellent blend of fighting and stealth. The 'free flow' fighting system works perfectly and is completely unique and not something you would see in any other game. For the stealth side, you got a number of stealth moves you can use to quietly eliminate your enemies plus all the fan favourite gadgets like the Batrang. The graphics look really good and life like, the atmosphere of the insane asylum works good too and the storyline may not have much to it but the way its told makes it interesting. This game is a must have whether or not you like comic book based games.

im not a fan of comic heroes and stuff, but Batman: Arkham Asylum gave me a shocker, its a well designed game with a cool story line, cool gadgets and great graphics, however the ending and some of the boss fights were quite easy, over all its a cool game, its experience must be felt.

Overall this game didn't let me down. I wanted it for ages and jumped at the chance to be able to get it and give it a play.Camera can be a little bit annoying sometimes but in major fight scenes it can actually come in handy but their are times when it can get really infuruiating.Overall it's a great game, with lots to do & lots to find & even when you finish the game you have challenge mode which can be a little bit of fun or a chance to add some more trophies to your list.If you like puzzle solving and kicking some Asylum inmates backsides then I don't think you will be disappointed

i play alotta varied games and i have to say this was one of the better ones this year the story is pretty short but very enjoyable its not a simple run through like i thought it would be theres some nice stealthy parts involved aswell which i normally get frustrated with and the challenges keep you playing even after youve finished the story

This game is near PERFECT. Last start form the beginning, the story is fantastic and well acted out, the combat is great to perform, the stealth aspect is not too much, the setting is well designed and you are the batman. If you love video games then you will love this. In every generation of consoles there are a few single player games that stand out , like Mario, sonic, grand theft auto, resident evil,God of war, bio-shock, gears of war and now batman. The only down side is that it is a few hours too short, to make it five stars it should be 12-15 hours to complete the story mode, where I finished it in about 9. They are extra modes where you have a few rounds of fighting or stealth, but its the story that keeps you wanting to play. It's up there with batman by Tim Burton and the two new ones. It has a feel of the radio version batman nightfall, the best batman story ever. PS rent it now.

Ok im a girl and to many's surprise, yes i do play the ps3. I have only ever been addicted to two games in my life. one is prototype. i played that for 40 hours straight with no sleeping breaks, so i was very tired but i wanted to play more. the other game i have been addicted to is arkham asylum. i have 100% now. i loved this game. it was well made and it held my intrest throughout, and i get easily distracted!I recommend this game to everyone with taste. im positive you'll love it if you have the patience to look for things. the not so smart will get angry with this game because there are some tough parts to complete. some riddles are rather to get through but if you use your brain you'll have it cracked in no time. so dont fall for bad reviewers who are angry because they spent 2 full days searching for a riddler trophy. just look at the majority of reviews. they all say its a great game. but dont take our word for it, try it yourself and test your detective skills.

BATMAN!!This game exceeded my expectations. It is simple to play and great fun and doesn't become dull or samey. You get to be batman! Why wouldn't it be cool? But in seriousness I had lots of fun playing this game and I have rated it better than most I have played so I would definately recommend you rent this game.Give it a go!!!

I should first qualify this by saying that I am a huge Batman fan so I am biased....However I think that this game will entertain even thou that have yet to realise the greatness of the Batty man, the controls and game play alone sell this game, the combat is fluid and realistic, the controls are responsive and the action is brutal.Complementing this is the close to perfect visual design and style, lifted straight from the likes of the Dark Knight Returns and the long Halloween. In some cases, namely the scarecrow the designers of this game have exceeded the original artwork adding another level of geeky wonderment to the action.I would add that the set pieces surrounding the scarecrow elevate him to an extra level of creepy beyond what illustrations can convey, I dont want to spoil the surprise but safe to say when batman starts coughing start worrying :-)The only complaint I would make is that the standard goons that batman pummels into unconsciousness for most of the game can become a tad repetitive in their actions and appearance but this can easily be forgiven because of just how fun it is to do the pummelling. In summary, great game play, excellent controls, superb visuals, fun and inventive level design, loved it from start to finish. Great fun for the average gamer, pure geeky gold for batman fan boysOh and Mark Hamill IS the Joker :-)

This is a review of the review called Cant Wait. How one can possibly review a game 2 months before its release - and award it 5 stars - is beyond me. Surely a review must be based on fact or opinion of the game itself otherwise its not worth the code its written with. Apparently this is not the case. The game maybe Awsum and Definatly Worth Reserving, but knowing this before playing it is quite some achievement. To quote: Being Able To Play Him [Batman] Is Great Fun. Knowing this now shows that the reviewer has an extremely promising career as a fortune teller. So all in all, the review was based on opinions not of the reviewer (previews and articles written by other people, I presume) and assumptions based on spurious information. And to add insult to injury, it was poorly spelt with appalling punctuation. I can only assume that the reviewer is a pretty extreme narcissist as Every Single One Of His Words Begins With A Capital Letter.
