This game is wow from start to finish. You start the game as an everyday guy named Cole who has to deliver a package, but when it causes a huge explosion that destroys the city and gives you and others superpowers you soon realise this is no ordinary superhero game. Cole gains the ability to manipulate electricty and you can use these powers however you choose. You can traverse every part of the city and trust me on this, it a BIG city. This sandbox game combines the Assasins Creed climbing mechanic and the Grand Theft Auto style sandbox gameplay to perfect effect. You can recharge your electrical supply by hooking yourself up to various transformers around the city and this ensures you use your powers conservatively. There is slight pop in and tearing in the game but this is mostly becuase there is no install and it by no means detracts from the experience. The karma system in the game is an intresting way of gauging how people react to you ingame. if you have good karma people will ask for autographs and you will have blue electricity. if you murder innocents and have abd karma your characters looks change dramatically and you become more powerfull but people will run away from you and even attack you in some cases. Overall this game is AMAZING and the playthrough time is around 25 hours so its worth every penny. If you own a ps3 this is a definite buy and if you don't this is another reason to buy one!

beautiful game.. if u like open world games and super hero stuff this game is ACE... sweet controls, beautiful graphics, detailed character and enviroment, ace combat system... and a nice story to suit .. nothing here for multiplayer thou.. but it more than makes up with it with its single player campaign and re-playability since they character can go either good or bad and u get special power for each side u deside so its gd to know what will happen if u are good or if u are bad ..recommend a buy .. ace game .. ps. u can download the demo from PSN if u are connected with your ps3 to the internet its free.

Sucker Punch have created a masterpiece with inFamous. It's extremely enjoyable, and plays like GTA meets Assassins Creed, with a superhero twist. The game opens with an abstract view of the city, pressing Start triggers a massive explosion which rips through the streets. It's a subtle touch, but involves the player from the first button press. Everything feels geared towards fun. Cole can fall from any height, scale any surface, and the controls are intuitive and forgiving. New abilities are unlocked at a generous pace, preventing gameplay from becoming stale. It feels like a breath of fresh air.The option to be good or evil works outstandingly. Missions are available for both sides, with completed missions cancelling out the other. Karma also affects appearance, and how civilians react to you. Being a hero causes people to cheer and take photos, evil prompts them to boo and throw rocks. Good and evil options are available during missions, such as an early escape attempt. Cole can either attack the riot cops from within the safety of the crowd, meaning attention would be diverted from himself. This would cause a riot, and lead to innocent people getting hurt. The other option is to attack the riot cops single handedly, and deal with the consequences. The quality of these moral choice holds throughout, meaning it's impossible to see everything on the first play through. Every action (killing enemies, completing missions etc) earns XP points. These are used to upgrade Cole's abilities, giving inFamous a light RPG element.Dialogue between characters is interesting, and at times genuinely funny. Particularly between Cole and conspiracy theorist Zeke. At one point he snaps: 'Get some rest, and a bath, I've got things to do!' Cole's actions are twisted by opposing news stations, which is also entertaining. Sound effects and music are similarly outstanding.Additional tasks include locating 350 blast shards, essentially inFamous' hidden packages. Dead drops contain encrypted messages which help piece together what's happened to Empire City. Territory can be reclaimed from the former addicts and junkies, who took control of the city when it was quarantined. This is done by completing side quests. The selection includes 'Counter Surveillance' - destroying camera equipment & 'Satellite Uplink' - a checkpoint race across the rooftops. There is some repetition, but the tasks are all entertaining, and manage to throw up some surprises. If I had to criticise: the graphics aren't spectacular. There are some nice touches, especially Cole's electrical powers. But a little extra polish would have been nice. However, when inFamous is this playable, and this much fun, it becomes insignificant.

I don't know what game everyone else was playing but the one I played was repetitive and boring. The graphics were poor and while the controls and gameplay were sharp, I lost interest 2 hrs in. It had the prince of persia thing where you have to restore each area one by one. Theirs something about that which just seems lazy to me, I would much rather have a multi layered story experience like GTA or AS2. If I had played through this in the summer when nothing else was out, I may have enjoyed it more but compared to the new titles that are out now such Uncharted 2, Assassins Creed 2 and Modern Warfare 2 (lots of 2s) it seems a bit average all round really.

I thought this game would be amazing, after all the hype about it i was expecting a great game. i am so dissapointed, this is the most boring game i have ever played in my life, the cut scenes are rushed so you dont get a feel for the storyline and dont really know whats going on, you dont have any relation with the character your controlling it could just be a stickman and you wouldnt notice. the camera is clumsy, the same as the controls. the game is just so lifeless and boring. I thought it would be like prototype, that was a great game. but this is just shocking. dont buy it, dont even rent it.

I thought I would add a review here as I currently have this game at home and have completed it myself. I first saw the trailer for the game, the beauty of power with a great clip from a song by 'If These Trees Could Talk - Malabar Front'.As said in the review below as soon as you select start this game literally opens with a boom, you find yourself in a particular situation which is a slight introduction to the game and cole. After this short and interesting opening you then get taken to a fantastic comic strip with some great voice acting that gives some more information to the player and sets you up for Cole's present day. From there you are pretty much open to most of the city area where you can some Mirror's Edge/Base Jumping style movements around the building roof tops and objects around the city (ranging from lamp posts to rail tracks). The setting for the game is quite like a Resident Evil style city but without all the Zombies, sort of like a Grand Theft Auto city that's been laid waste too or allowed to fall to pieces.Anyways, as Cole you begin the adventure as someone with powers which you learn more about as you go on. The game also has the fantastic choice/karma system where you can decide which type of person you want to be.. Famous or inFamous.. so many twists that just makes this a game you feel you will need to play again and again just to see if this makes any different to your game experience! The movements are easy to use, as said before the Assassin's Creed style scaling of buildings with the challenge of using the different powers you get to the best of your ability to achieve your goals or defeat an enemy. There are plenty exciting moments of game play as well as twists in the story that makes this a hard game not to put down so I suggest you rent this, then perhaps look to buy on the cheap afterwards just to explore all this game has to offer. That being said, I look forward to more from the same Developers.

i wasn't wowed by infamous, but it was a decent game. much better then prototype, but i still got bored after a few hours. open world is a brilliant gaming concept, but i found infamous' gameplay a little limited, and the story was nothing special; ok, but the main ideas & themes are slightly predictable. an average game thats worth a rent.

After playing such games as Spiderman 3 and experiencing that open-ended world where you have the same powers as your favourite super hero, I really hoped that more games would give you a similar experience and after a long wait, one finally got round to doing so.I will not spoil the storyline or even hint at what's in store, All I will say is that those who are fans of all things 'comic book' and super hero are going to LOVE this game. Not only are you given powers which grow with you and enhance your gameplay as you make your way through the plot , but you are given a playground which will test you with enemies which change with each territory, environments rich in detail, the option of good or evil paths and combat which will have your fingers aching by the time their through. The only complaints I have for this truly impressive game is that there are parts in the game where you feel you are doing nothing but aiming and hammering on the buttons to get through certain missions. For a game that has you claiming areas to gain an advantage, you would think the developers could have given thought to more tactical combat at times. I also wish there were more villains too - but that is refering to my personal taste!!!These are VERY small factors though and anyone who has a PS3 would be insane not to give this game a try!!!

I am loving this game. Its a cross between Force unleashed and Grand Theft Auto. It is really easy to play and not difficult to master. Sorry people might have this for a week or so.

The game arrived a day early curtsy of Play.com, what can I say this game is phenomenal. At first when I booted the game up I was a bit skeptical and didnt really know what to make of it, it seemed at bit too linear. After my moment of disappointment had past I soon began to love the game, the first thing that stood out was the vibrancy of the post apocalyptic city, I felt really immersed and part of the city. I then discovered that virtually anything was climbable, just look outside at the nearest building and imagine yourself climbing it that is what this game is like. The graphics could be slightly better in my opinion but the amount of detail more than makes up for this. In addition the story line could be better for instance it doesnt feel totally believable or logical but the gorgeous graphic novel cut scenes make the storyline feel irrelevant and you soon forget the purpose of the game and just enjoy it for what it is.There are so many things that cannot be mentioned in this post like Cole's electrical powers and the option of being good or evil, affecting your physical appearance and your popularity. Hell, stop reading this and rent the game and then buy the dam thing.

was aigh, gets a bit boring, shooting is pretty joyless, enjoyed the free running. Story seemed to be going somewhere but didn't really. worth a bash though definitely
