Rated - 5 starsOne of the best introductions to RPGs for anyone

Ria Llewellyn from Swansea, Wales , 27/11/2007

The first RPG I ever played was Final Fantasy VII, and after that I was hooked. But with X, the gameplay and graphics are seriously improved from earlier versions, which makes this one of the best introductions to the genre anyone could ask for. The beauty of it is, unlike some RPG's out there, you simply don't HAVE to go out and find every extra (and yet doing so would take you a good amount of time!) to complete the game. It's challenging but not enough to smash your head against a wall, and it's sheer beauty (even in comparison to some of the next gen games, and of course FFXII) will keep you playing for hours.

I highly recommend this game to anyone and everyone - come on - rent it - NOW!

Rated - 5 starsBest RPG in PS2

Ovee DhakA Boi from London, UK , 24/03/2006

Final Fantasy X is the first Final Fantasy Game I played. I have played a large collection of PS2 games... and I got this game very late 3-4 years after its release... It still plays better, looks better than most of the newer games out there. I was totally hooked. Good story, Loads of characters, Decent battle system, totally addictive and its got a good length (40 hrs+).

Rated - 4 starsAn Excellent Introductory RPG

A customer from Sutton Coldfield , 13/09/2009

It has an engrossing storyline and excellent graphics, the battle system is very simple, and turn based. The sphere grid system for upgrades is the easiest upgrade system i have seen in any RPG. i would recommend this game to anyone. there is a load of extra content in game you can get extra Aeons, moves and weapons without them being compulsory, this was so succesfull it spawned a sequel X-2 which was nowhere near as good as this is. The 1st time my son played through the game, finally completed it, he cried at the ending, due to the sad mix of music and excellent scripting. the Music and Script editors have done themselves proud on this, the voice actors are pretty much perfect and i think this is the best RPG in the series so far. Well Over 50 hours of gameplay and thats an excellent amount for any game fan.

Rated - 3 starsToo Many Cut Scenes

Nadia1970 from London , 11/02/2009

Good game - but like with most of the Final Fantasy games I never get to finish them as the bosses get too hard. There are so many cut scenes which can't be skipped that I spent more time sitting and watching them than playing the game - which I found very frustrating.

Amazing story and beautiful cut scenes.

Rated - 3 starsA review for those who've played earlier FF games

A customer from London , 24/02/2009

I've noticed on other sites that poor reviews of FF games tend to get discredited by die hard fans of the series. So... bearing in mind that I've played Final Fantasy VII 3 times in full over the years and have played every game with the exception of 11, I wouldn't even consider playing this one again. The idea just bores me.

Yes the graphics are great, but it feels like you run for a while, fight a monster, watch a video sequence, take 2 steps, watch another video sequence....

I did finish it mind you so it's not all bad. The battle system is more complicated and interesting than previous games and some of the puzzles to get through an area take some real concentration. I simply feel that since the Final Fantasy series has migrated to the PS2 and other platforms, the characters, music and side quests have all taken a knock. Maybe I just liked the kind of cutsey feel to the previous games and to some extent the simplicity. If Square Enix could bring that back and combine it with the graphics of the PS2 releases and open battle system of FF12 then I think they'd be onto a winner.

It was forgettable and disappointing for me. 2nd to digging out your old PS1 FF games, I would recommend giving this a miss and going for FF12 instead. There's a lot of video seqences in that as well, but a lot more areas to explore.

Rated - 5 starsbest fantasy so far

009 from Colchester , 09/02/2007

what a brilliant game i recommend this to any rpg fan it blows you away.the story is brilliant and the gameplay allows you to take your time in battle.the sphere grid is a new feature in this one as you move along you learn magic and boost up your health every character has there own path on the grid so different people can learn diiferent moves. you can earn sphere levels by fighting monsters. and gets harder as you progress. the higher the sphere level the more you can move around the grid so spend it wisely.

Rated - 5 starsa whole new world!

A customer from Coventry, England, The World. , 16/09/2006

This is Final Fantasy at it's best. A true return to form of the brilliant FFVII after the disappointing FFIX. This game is designed for escapism and can easily consume a vast amount of your life. I've spent over 270 hours as Tidus and I'm still not hard enough to beat all the dark aeon's! Plus, Blitzball is the greatest sub game you'll find.
