Well, This is a game for Star-Wars fans first and foremost. Battlefront 2, sequel to Star Wars Battlefront, is a game of rebels and stormtroopers, X-Wings and Tie Fighters and new to the series, Jedi knights

Battlefront (and Battlefront 2) is a first person shooter with objectives and teamwork but dont let that fool you, this game only has the semblance of a brain

Basically you choose which side you'll fight for (Either the Republic or the CIS in the Clone Wars or the Empire of the Rebels in the Intergalactic Civil War) then pick a character class (basic squaddie is the usual one to choose) and which command post to spawn at.

You need to capture enemy command posts and try to defend yours. You can get your bots to follow you and fight with you but really its just a matter of running around shooting anyone who ISNT one of you and taking over command posts when you see them.

Throw into the mix vehicles (At-St's for one but also speeder bikes and X-Wings) and hero characters that become available either based on time or your score.

The hero's, espc the Jedi, are great fun. Jedi obviously have agility allowing them to make huge leaps, they can parry blaster shots with thier lightsabre and obviously carve up the enemy with your lightsabre. However all the hero's lose energy slowly and only regain it by killing enemy soldiers, so you have to be where the action is!

There are also other mission types which involve starships. These new space based missions feature dog fights between X-Wings and Tie Fighters, bombing runs by Y-Wings and Tie-Bombers and boarding actions by marines. These are imho great fun and you can really get into a Star Wars feel, espcially with the movie music on the soundtrack to the game. I found myself constanlty quoting from the movies.

Bad points: The game is very shallow, there is only the barest hint of stratedgy, the character classes arent all useful (the engineer is very limited in his appeal) and with four players, the screens become fairly small. The single player campaign is also a bit lacking but is an improvement on the first game at least

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is WELL worth renting out if you like multi player shooters (with 2 or 4, this game SHINES) and is a good pick up and play blast-em-up

This is one game where you wont get a bad feeling
