Test Drive Unlimited is MOOR (Massively Open Online Racing) which means that not only can you Race, Time trials, e.t.c.

But you can also free roam the Massive Environment both online and offline to give you the real experience of a driving simulator. You can also race other players around the world and buy new vehicles along the way or even indulge yourself in a police chase.

Overall Test Drive Unlimited is set to be one of the greatest Driving Simulators of all time.

Rated - 5 starsSimply a must-buy for any car fan.

A customer from London , 10/08/2006

I have played the demo of test drive unlimited to death and it never gets boring - yet that is just a tiny fraction of the full game.

I will not be renting this - because I will be buying it!

It is awesome to say the least. The graphics and sounds are even more impressive than PGR3, which is saying something. The gameplay will be fascinating with the ability to explore over 1000 miles of Hawaii's Oahu island, mapped out using authentic GPS data. You earn money by doing time trials and racing other online or AI opponents on your island, allowing you to do upgrades, modifications, buy new vehicles, clothes for your avatar, and even new houses & garages.

There are over 90 highly desirable vehicles available including bikes as well as cars and this number is likely to be increased via downloads on XBox Live just like PGR3.

Rated - 2 starsDo NOT rent this game for relaxasion.

pjwy from Broxburn [Highly rated reviewer] , 27/09/2008

This is one of the most frustrating games you can play. You are driving in a straight line and suddenly the car will spin for no reason. This is very annoying, particularly when it only happens if an AI car is about to overtake you.

Secondly cars aim for you in this game, normal cars firstly will just change lane, even from the other side of the road just so they are in front of you causing a crash, secondly in a race of 6 cars, only 1 is trying to win, the sole purpose of the rest is to block you, make you spin and generally sit in front of you using the brakes.

The only redeeming feature is that the game is fairly generous for gamer points.

This beats PGR3, Forza 2 and any Need for Speed, even my girlfriend likes it... Although there is a limit to how many items of clothing or pads I own.

Altogether a fantastic, exciting and immense driving sim.

Rated - 5 starsBrilliant

A customer from Yeovil , 02/11/2008

This was the first game that I bought when I got my first Xbox 360 and I loved it then and still love it now.

Brilliant gameplay, brilliant graphics, brilliant online play...overall...BRILLIANT game, I highly recommend it to anyone that loves racing games. The map is seemingly endless and can take several hours to get around the whole thing, plenty of races to keep you amused for weeks on end, and very good for getting your gamer points up easily.

Other racing games simply cannot compare to this on vastness. Rent it, love it, buy it!!

RugbyPete from Rugby , 08/02/2009

I played the demo, didnt really 'get' it... however after a few hours playing its addictive! Race, get more money, save up for your dream cars, drive on roads with raffic like in the old days of that driving sim i can never remeber the name of, but it was realistic for its day! Also, seeing others online driving around is cool, good game if you give it time, demo doesnt do it justice! Give it a go, play it for 4 hours then make a judgement. ITs good fun, addictive.

Rated - 3 starsMixed Feelings but I cant stop playing!

chwb2003 from Norwich [Highly rated reviewer] , 04/02/2008

Not quite sure if I really like this game or not. I've rented it for a while and have actually purchased it but don't know what it is thats making me wanting to keep playing it.

The driving isnt realistic, no where near the realism of Forza 2 but I just love burning down the highway at 200mph in my Enzo and rear ending some innocent driver smashing his vehicle up and not putting a scratch on mine! This game also has bikes where Forza doesnt which is another nice feature. The map is huge and takes a while to explore the whole Island, theres plenty of races and challenges to complete, ranging from speed challenges to picking up hitchhikers.

Some of the achievements are realtively easy to get but dont expect this to be a quite way to 1000 gamer points, this will take some time especially with acheivements like exploring every road on the island and owning 20 houses.

Theres alot to keep you going on this, its not the best driving game but the cars look good and it does have something that makes you want to keep playing. Worth renting and finding out for yourself.

ALL THE MISSIONS ARE THE SAME!!! However the selection of cars is ok but it cant compete with pgr3 like the review claims if your a REAL fan of driving games I'd advise you went for pgr3 rather than this

Rated - 3 starsHawaii 5-Oh noooo

Benstarkie from Cambridge [Highly rated reviewer] , 25/09/2006

Kudos to Eden for attempting something different at least but for all the massiveness, the multiplayer-ness and online-ness, Test Drive is sadly lacking in one rather key aspect. The driving. While I found myself ecstatic at zooming around in an Aston Martin, enjoying the beautiful landscapes of Hawaii and actually getting rather emotional at The Flight of the Valkyries providing the soundscape for all these lush visuals, imagine my consternation as I turned a corner and my beautiful shining DB7 seemed to miraculously adopt the handling of a custard pie! The physics are a joke, the cars are twitchy AND unresponsive all at once and what could have been a great game is left as just a shallow example of style being given a little too much priority over substance.

The odd thing is... I find myself still playing it, hence my sit-on-the-fence 3 stars. I urge you, have a go. But a Gran Turismo rival this is not!
