Rated - 4 starsBrilliant!

Having played Prince of Persia: Sands of Time on the PC and absolutely loving it, then being a bit disappointed by Warrior Within on the same platform, Rival Swords on the Wii has exceeded all expectations.

Although there's the addition of the Dark Prince in this one, I actually found it a lot less dark than Warrior Within and in fact, much more like Sands of Time. It seems that they kept some of the innovative features of Warrior Within and brought back some of the more enjoyable aspects and brighter scenery from Sands.

The graphics on the Wii are quite good, especially when used with a component cable on an HDTV and the cutscenes in particular are truly stunning and on par with films like Final Fantasy: Spirits Within. The best thing about it on the Wii however are the controls. Using the Wii remote to control the camera is surprisingly easy and not at all confusing. Both the remote and nunchuk are used for fighting and make battles smoother and much more intuitive.

Overall, a great game for a great console.

Rated - 4 starsGood fun!

I was not sure what to expect from this game to start with, as I have not played any of the pervious prince of Persia games. Getting to grips with the controls was easy and well explained within the game, performing the acrobatic stunts was a lot of fun and so is playing as the Dark prince. The only thing I found a little strange was the combat scenarios as they seemed a little too slow and unresponsive.

Personally enjoyed the boss fights and the acrobatics and combined with ok graphics I found this game to be very enjoyable and would recommend it to anyone.

Rated - 3 starsGood but not great

A customer from Blyth , 27/01/2008

The game starts off with a really good story line, but that gets forgotten when theres so many things to learn. The different sections to navigate were well thought out, but if you miss and it starts again you hear the same audio again and again which could drive a person mad! This game is defiantly worth renting but be prepared to play it for a while before it gets really good

40 minutes of my life i will never get back graphics are good but that much time learning combo controls! I like to play a game for for fun and honestly once they started first person gaming these types of games should have died out

Rated - 3 starsCompletely Average

Completely Average. Not bad, Not good. It's the sort of game you'll play for an evening and never play again. It's worth a rent if your a 'P of P' fan but not worth buying

Rated - 3 starsGood but frustrating

A customer from West Midlands , 13/02/2009

Prince of persia has some good gameplay and the cut scenes are really good graphics, but this game is reministant of assasin's Creed which I played on the xbox (before this).

I do like all the little slow-mo battle moves but apart from a couple, I find i'm just shaking the wiimote and nunchuck around just to disperse the enemy.

What frustrated me was the dark prince section and the lack of water fountains (save points) I'm not very good against the clock and it took the pleasure out of the game as I was constantly redoing the same section over and over again with no save points. This is where the game lost interest for me. Great rental, good use of the wiimote and nunchuck (although mine kept saying please connect nunchuck halfway through a battle scene, even though it was firmly in) but turned out to be not my kind of game.

So if you like assasin's creed and other similar adventure games, then add this to your list, from what I hear though this is a remake off another platform - so if you're an avid Prince of Persia fan, you've probably already played it!

Rated - 3 starsCould be worse

A customer from Hertford, England , 13/11/2008

Prince of Persia: Rival Swords is a good game on PS2, PS3, Xbox360 AND Gamecube becuase it is easy to control whereas on Wii it's not as good becuase it's hard to point the camera the right way and move your player. This game is average but I wouldn't recommend it on Wii.

Very good graphics and simple game play, but I found the subtitles a distraction especially when they crashed and the same subtitle stayed on the screen until you quit the game, Very annoying). Otherwise a good entertaining game keeping many of the original attractions and introducing some new tricks.
