Rated - 5 starsAnother Quality Tom Clancy Game

SeRiOuS GaMeR from Devon, England , 25/04/2007

I always like to rent all my games to review them before I buy them, good money saving idea - The Tom Clancy games are always classic's in their own right and this one was no exception.

I am going to buy it this weekend to add to my collection.

Excellent - 5 Stars

you've got to admit it, our man has class !!! and there's a certain coolness with which he goes about doing his job including cleaning the world from the all the scum...the graphics & sound are so good that it'd be a disgrace to play it on anything less than a 42' with an equally kick-ass have-money-will-splurge surround sound system...how else do you describe the feeling of WOW you get when you are suspended by a cable from a building in the heart of shanghai & all of a sudden the entire city below you erupts in a festive riot of colours as you hold on to dear life & you can't decide whether to watch (read:ogle) at the breathtaking view or get on with your mission...in short one of the most absorbing, stylish & intelligent games I've ever played. Highly recommended.

Rated - 2 starssplinter cell da

A customer from Aberdeen , 23/06/2008

I really couldn't get into this game. I thought it was mediocre. Also it can be hard if you are not used to the splinter cell franchise or stealthy games. I think that it is best left for fans of the series.

This is the second time in nearly as many moths where I'm feeling like a total mug for letting a gaming gem slip through my fingers for all these years and i'm not exactly sure how it happened. I'm no stranger to Tom Clancy titles, i loved the ghost reckon series on PS2 and i had the original Rainbow six games to but somehow Splinter Cell just never managed to enter my console, possibly the reason i never brought it was because someone once told me it was like metal gear solid and those games really aren't my thing but also i kept forgetting to take it from the friend who said they'd lend it to me, what ever the reason i now regret not getting into this series earlier as i now just HAVE to go back and play all the games that came before this.....Now here is the review part of this rant. First off the plot line is of as good a quality as you expect from Tom Clancy so you will be gripped from start to finish. Graphically it's great, the sound is great (both effects and voice acting) the controls are pretty easy to pick up and soon become second nature to use, the game play is just some of the best i've ever experienced this game is so open it reminds me of Hitman in the way you can approach each level in many many different ways, i played through the game a number of times and always found a new way to go about completing the objectives.

I only have two criticisms of the game 1) It's a bit hostile towards new players, it just expects you to know everything and has probably the most pitiful training levels i've ever seen. It's just a bit hard to get to grips with at first as it doesn't really tell you a lot about the controls or what certain things do or how to the various in game actions like pick locks, crack safes or hack computers, but once you get to grips with it and find things out for yourself then you'll be fine. My second criticism is the online play, this is even more unwelcoming to new players then the main story mode. for a start in most of the few games that i found going on the other players kicked me becasue all my skill percentage stats were at 0 and nobody wanted to play with 'the new guy' out of 10 games this happened in about 7, once got into the games i didn't really get what to do and didn't find it very enjoyable i think you need to either of played the games online before or be prepared to play it loads to pick up the hang of it to really get anything out of playing the game online. Besides these two things the game is near perfect to play with more game elements then you can shake a stick at, also the whole 'double agent' thing is executed so, so well its just just such a great concept that they've developed outstandingly, most games which feature choices that effect the ending don't even compare to how it's done in this. I haven't really gone to far into reviewing the game as really you need to play it to understand the positives. This is one of those games you could easily play all day and not get bored as there's so much to do and so much fun to be had doing it. for me this is defiantly up there as one of the best 360 games out and if you haven't played the splinter cell games before then get in on this quickly before you miss any more of these truly amazing games!!

Rated - 3 starsDidnt know what to expect...

damon from Berwick-upon-Tweed [Highly rated reviewer] , 22/07/2008

After being the first time that i played a Splinter cell game, and knowing nothing about them this is what i thought.

Good points:

Has a brilliant multiplayer mode!

Loved the trust system as it presents a few exciting moral dilemas!

Loved the fact that you have to watch your back all the time unlike other shooters i have played, but this brings a more realistic edge to it!

Huge amount of replay value to it!

Bad points:

The campaigns levels all seemed a bit to 'samey', to me with a lot of the same graphics and sound.

Some frame rate problems seem to Bog down the visuals.

My rating: 3.8/5

Definately a rental for any action fan!

Superb game that I was impressed with from the opening sequence. Clever use of gadgetry and slick intel briefings made the story quite plausible overall. Played it again on a higher difficulty level and opened a few more achievements.

Rated - 4 starsWhere's SC: Conviction?!?

Terentius Terentius from Nottingham [Highly rated reviewer] , 05/06/2008

DA has been out now for a while.

The single campaign is a real challenge and completing the achievement for the hard setting was incredibly satisfying.

You'll need patience, lots of it to crack this game. I'm having another go at this just to get hold of the multiplayer achievements.

It may be getting old (especially with the impending release of its sequel, SC: Conviction), but its still a fine game.

Rated - 5 starsA Cracking game

A customer from Surbiton , 29/12/2007

Few games pull of the feeling of really being involved in an interactive movie, this one does. Best graphics Ive seen anywhere. Very enjoyable.
