This is a very dull game but it has a very easy 1000 GS, if you use a guide it can be done in about 5 hours. :)

Rated - 3 starsPut on your sleuthing head....basic but entertaining PC port

Jaknory from Ware , 31/07/2008

1000 APs - done! That's probably the best reason to rent....1000 points for 8 hours play.....a good reason to rent. Not ever having watched the TV show I can't vouch whether this is in keeping with the IP, and don't know whether the voice acting is authentic. It does look and play like a poor PC port, with lots of loading screens, and non-intuitive menu systems. That said, the opportunity to be involved in crime scene analysis feels 'authentic' - despite there being loads of clues that are far too convenient. Character models are lacking, particularly when considering the amazing characters that appear in Mass Effect or similar (think slightly worse models than in the Lost game). There's a help function that doesn't overly detract from the game, and five cases to work through. AP's are awarded at 200 per case - meaning the 1000 available are unlocked just by playing through once - which does mean that whilst there is an opportunity to replay for higher ratings, there really is very little incentive to do so. For AP whores, a worthwhile rental - for others (and I came to this game not for the APs but instead a diversion from 1st person shooters and the like) something to while away a few hours, but nothing special.

Rated - 2 starsLoading.........

NeonSunset from Wokingham , 01/07/2008

the gameplay is quite good, it reminded me of old school lucasarts point and click adventure. Finding the all the bits of evidence takes a keen eye (or a huge lcd telly), but it kept me entertianed.

ther major let down for me was the excessive loading times, it takes a good 5mins (sometimes a little longer) each time you move area, this gets very frustrating if you accidently go to the wrong area .

The graphics are also quite poor in reguards to character models, one of the worst i have seen on the 360

if you are chasing a big gamerscore than all you have to do is put up with the loading times and finish the game to get the full 1000

good game if you like the series or if you ar chasing gamerpoints

Rated - 2 starsBoost to Gamer Points only, don't play for entertainment.

3 nights to complete at most, slow but ok, they tried but could have been better. Only play if you want an easy boost to your gamer points, no other reason to play at all.

Rated - 4 starsSurprising

PlyrYaKA from Huntingdon , 17/06/2008

Let's face it, the only people who rent this game are achievement whores. But, for all you lucky gamerscore-harvesters, this is surprisingly fun aswell as incredibly easy to get the sweet, sweet 1000Gs. The story is actually good and even using a guide i found it very interesting all the way through. It's a good length; round-about 5 hours if you cheat, but i can't imagine it taking alot longer. Only problem is the character models are f-ugly and last gen, but for the Gs I'm sure you can put up. Oh, and the voice acting is brilliant!!!

A customer from Dead , 19/03/2008

Easy game to play not very taxing,Nice 'stories' though, decent graphics BUT 'Grissom' looks like 'Hank Hill','Nick' is nothing like him,And 'Cahtherine Willows' has the MOST ANNOYING voice in any game ever,It make scraping your fingers nails down a blackboard bearable.

Good game for Gamerpoint bores (1000)

Rated - 2 starsCSI: Har... Simplest Evidence

GenericReviewer from Southall , 20/12/2009

What could quite be easily classed as a 'Gamertag Whores Dream Title', CSI Hard Evidence is a title that you would rather rush then attempt to enjoy; due to well... Let me tell you the issues below.

While it does have the official CSI cast doing voice acting, everyone else that you encounter shows no emotion, besides anger and you would have more fun talking to Microsoft Sam during a murder case! Not only that, but this is a PC port... Yet somehow resulted in being given the Wii Graphics; meaning that everything which you are meant to collect as evidence appears in a slightly different shade then the object next to it; making the game seem more based of a old Flintstones cartoons.

So thats the audio and graphic display dealt with, lets move onto the controls itself. As I said, it was a PC Port and if you are a fan of the old Lucas arts point and click based titles; you can kinda see where I am going with this. However if you don't; I shall sum it up for you like this: There are menus, within menus of menus! Thats right... To pick something up; you have to go through three of them and if you select the wrong item... YOU HAVE TO GO BACK INTO ANOTHER MENU! Yet I spent a vast amount of time laughing at how poor this game was, that I slightly enjoyed it and class it more of a mock on CSI; not to forget I got 1000G for my efforts.

CafeMamboBhoy from Glasgow [Highly rated reviewer] , 15/02/2008

This game sounded interesting enough so i decided to rent it having never watched the tv show.I played through the full game and got the full 1000 gamerscore which is easy enough. The game is point and click and straight away reminded me of a game i owned for the amiga called fasination some of you might remember this to.The first level of this game was fun it took me around 2 hours to complete and there was plenty to solve however as the game goes on it becomes very repetative visiting the same character and places even thought it is a completly different case the thought of another 4 levels was gruelling but i got though it and am happy in my thoughts that i will never play this game again.Worth a rent for a few days but nothing more.

JohnnyDrama from Kingston upon Thames , 22/06/2009

...I don't think so. I appreciate this may have been a hit on a pc but its just a waste on the 360. Point and click is the name of the game...pity coz it could've been so much better if the developement house had decided to jazz it up.

Some people might like its simplicity but I just found it boring and repetitive.

Rated - 2 starsLoved it

MadCopyCat from Liverpool , 13/06/2009

As a fan of the CSI series I loved playing the game, all the different tools to collect and examine the evidence is excellent. My only regret is that it's not long enough, after completing it I wanted more.

Rated - 3 starspretty good

Domo87 from Birmingham , 09/06/2009

lets face it, there is only two sets of people who would rent this game.... people who love CSI and everything about it, and people looking for achievements. And i think both sets of people will be pretty happy with it. for achievement hunters, there are only five achievements... and thats 200g for each Crime you solve. it can be finished in a couple of days and is a good booster to the achievement score. For fans of CSI, it has everything in it that the show has, all the crimes are quite thoughtful and it takes quite alot of working out and evidence hutning to trk and solve them. the graphics arent too bad, and the overall feel of the game is pretty good :) only improvements i wud make is to have a lot more crimes to solve as 5 isnt really long enough to merit the money to pay for it. Definetely a good game to rent though!

Rated - 2 starsNot great!!! Boring!!!

A customer from Eng , 15/05/2009

This isn't great!

Everything has to be done their way, find this clue, then take it to lab, then go back, find another clue and so on.

Also if you don't do it in their EXACT order you end up going round the houses!!

Disappointing game - as i love csi - thought it was going to be A LOT better!!!!

Rated - 2 starsnot bad

matthills22 from Colchester , 16/04/2009

CSI is not a bad game in the first two crime scenes. But the game gets a bit tedious, and gets quite repetitive. The game is still an easy 1000g if you are into boosting, I recommended you find a good guide for this.

This game is extremely underated on most of the reviews ive read. Its gameplay is simple yet effective and if you like a good story to follow its just like watching the TV show.

PS: The gamerscore dosant dissapoint but the game is alot better if you dont use a guide to finish the cases.

The concept for this game was good but it would be better on PC.

It took a bit of time but i got 1000/1000 on this game and just sent it back.

You might enjoy this more if you're a real CSI fan.

Rated - 2 starsGood, But Not Great

AdamBroughton from Luton , 24/02/2009

CSI repeats itself time after time, but it's an easy game that shouldn't take any longer than 5-6 hours to complete. There are five cases, each take about 35 minutes.

It's not very exciting, and the detail is rather minor. Makes a good rental - and a easy 1000G.

Rated - 1 starTime consuming, easy 1000g

Jessystar Jessystar from Northwich , 30/01/2009

Ok... Repetetive, tiring, gets a bit boring at the end. But with a guide. Extremely easy. I like games like this, but it was glitchy in places. The graphics are alright. But it is only advicable to rent. If you buy, your wasting your money!

Although it takes in total about 4 - 5 hours a bit time consuming, i will recomend to do at least 2 one day and 3 the other, because you just give up. But if your looking for easy 1000g..... THIS IS IT! get a guide online, easy easy easy.

Peace

Rated - 3 starsAnother 1000 GP Richer

Andy141 from Perth , 04/01/2009

If your the kind of person who enjoys finding out how and why someone could commit to a such a horrific act then this is a game for you.

Use your forensic knowledge to decypher the clue and catch the culprit.

I will break this review down in order to provide the most accurate review.

Graphics: Not so good - same locations and people used in 2 of the cases - I will admit that Ubisoft have made some of the famous CSI Las Vegas character look pretty damn similar but since when has Grissom been so skinny?

Gameplay: Stories are interesting, nice little twists and turns. I think you'll find it hard to locate every hidden clue without a walkthrough.

Play Time: You can have this game completed in less than a week, so if your looking for an easy 1000 GP then this game is for you (You don't have to find everything to get achievement - just finish the case).

Controls: The controls are ok, quite annoying having to switch between the analog stick and directional pad while using the forensic computers.

Overall: I enjoyed this game and would recommend others renting - Not Buying - it. I certainly would rent the next one if they make one.

Get out their all you CSI fanatics!

Rated - 4 starsGreat game for fans of the TV series

Hellfire from Scunthorpe , 04/01/2009

I really enjoyed playing this game and the only reason i did not award 5 stars was because, it's not really long enough, which is a shame because the 5 murders you do get to solve are all very interesting.

The game involves you looking through the eyes of an investigator, and examining the scene for clues, and it also has a feature where you can ask questions when you get stuck which helped me a few time.

Definately worth a rent if you like the series or if you want 1000 easy gamerscore.

Rated - 0 starsOMG - don't do it to yourself

A customer from Poole , 24/10/2008

I can only say avoid like a plague - terribly boring game which sees you jumping from location to location numerous times only to go back to a location again to ask some stupid questions. The crime scene's are dull and the movie cut scenes have graphics of an amiga console!!! if you want some gamer points and are willing to torture yourself for 1000 points then try but otherwise avoid if you can.

Rated - 2 starsDisapointing

Lardy Lardy from Torquay , 21/10/2008

i love CSI so naturally i wanted to play the game, what a mistake. It was very boring and easy, its like no-one put any thought into it at all. There are only 5 achievements each worth 200 points each for completing each case.

Rated - 2 starsWorth a Rent

TheProphet TheProphet from Darlington , 09/10/2008

Well I like the CSI Series and thought i would give the game a go but for be it got very boring and all i wanted to do was complete it and get the 1000GS and send it back, at one point a fell asleep i was that bored.

The Graphics are nothing special however the video scenes are good, some of the storylines can be good the way they develop, but can be a bit tricky ass you always seem to forget to ask one question or forget to link some evidence together, Overall Nothing special, I would not buy this game as it can be completed in a night but worth a rent.

Rated - 2 starsNot great

A customer from here , 10/08/2008

I got this for achievements and it is okay for that but it takes ages to play and is very repetitive. Also the last achievement was glitched for me so I couldn't do it!

Rated - 2 starsMade for the 360?

IpswichAndy from Woodbridge , 30/07/2008

unfortunately, this game was not made for the 360.

although the game is decent enough, the controls let it down drastically. they are fiddly, inaccurate and will drive you wild.

if you can, play csi on the pc. its a point and click game on a console not designed for such things.

ukd from Newport , 04/07/2008

CSI: Hard Evidence continues along the same design and gameplay path shown in previous games.

The gameplay is very basic - point-and-click at items/objects uncovering evidence. You then look at the evidence in the lab. And eventual convict one of your suspects. Though it's basic, there are a few frustrating points in the game where you have to cross reference certain evidence, or you may miss one piece of evidence out of dozens. It is at these points that the game can become annoying. Usefully, the game has a built in hint system which I used 3 times; though it will effect your ranking.

The graphics are somewhat dated in compraison to top-end games; but still above-average. The use of voice acting of the shows characters is done well and adds an extra layer to the game for fans.

The stories of each of the 5 cases in the game are where it shines. Fans of the show will be familiar with the plot twists and the manner in which stories unfold. I enjoyed this show mainly due to the charismatic characters.

The load times are frequent but once you get used to them they are not too much of a hinderence, none are longer than 10 seconds. And for achievement lovers this game has 5, one for completing each case. This game took me roughly 10 hours to complete which is a fair amount of time. There is some replayability in collecting all evidence/insects/thoroughness points to get bonuses but overall it is unlikely you will revisit past cases after completing them.

Overall, it's easy to be overly harsh on this game due to lackluster gameplay, but at the end of the day the appeal is in the characters and story which fans of the show will appreciate; point-and-click games are very rare in modern gaming and this was a refereshing change.

metal Fan from Yorkshire [Highly rated reviewer] , 02/07/2008

Definitely rental only as i finished it over a week-end.

Quality of the writing is good and its not always obvious who did it till you collect all the evidence at the end. This is what kept me playing, wanting to know whodunit. Some of the characters look awful though. Very easy game with little in the way of a challenge since hints are always available, plus it's a case of move curser over area and if it turns green you can examine it.Analysing evidence in the lab is engaging though. As a rental, this is actually enjoyable enough to play through the end.

What is appalling is all the in-game advertising!

Rated - 3 starsCSI : Hard Evidence

A customer from Dagenham , 02/06/2008

Average. Apply this word to all aspects of this game and you're about there. There's enough in here to please CSI fans, and for the rest of us there's the easy points. The first case is quite interesting but sadly the game shows all it has to offer right there. The rest of the game is retread of the first case just with different names and places, although by the last case even that starts repeating.

Clunky controls and repetitive gameplay sum up this middle of the road game.

Rated - 1 starGamerscore

A customer from Southsea , 03/04/2008

Gamerscore wise this is very very simple to get 1000pts. You simply have to complete the 5 cases to get all the points - it does not matter how well you perform either.

Problem is it is dull. I played the first case properly. It took about 2 hours. It was fun for as long as the concept was fresh. Then it just got plain dull. I promptly found a guide and hammered through the other 4 cases in about 4-5 hours in total.

I am sure if you like CSI (I have never watched it) there may be some extra interest here - each case gives you a different CSI Partner. But you just do the same stuff over and over and over.

Recommended only for the points and for fans I think (unless you only plan on doing the 1st case!).

ManInThong from Bridgwater , 20/02/2008

i personally didnt like this i love CSI on tv but this was a let down the controls were too clunky, isn't very challenging the crimes were too easy too solve and the navigation system is just too annoying. some people may like this i hated how easy it was i got 1000 gamerscore in just 2 1/2 days and that was playing after work and around spending time with my partner. the 1 star comes from the level of detail gone into the game

Rated - 3 starsLacks Excitement

Crypticgrifter from Northampton [Highly rated reviewer] , 01/02/2008

For anyone who has played the previous titles on PC and enjoyed them, this is pretty much more of the same. For those of you that were expecting more or haven't played the CSi series in the past, you may be disappointed. The plot of each case follows the same format as the Tv series but the graphics and gameplay are both awkward and uninspiring. It has a total of five cases to solve, for which you will earn 100 achievement points each but honestly I was so bored after one case I sent it back. Not very good at all.
