the reviews are very good for this game however the actual game its self does not have an actual story line. this therefor creates a poor game. another problem with this game is you get clips after every stage. this does get rather anoying.all in all it is really a bad game and i would not recomend it to anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A customer from Birmingham , 06/12/2007
This is such an addictive game, all the stages are different from each other and its so fun discovering new galaxies and the're not really hard to do. So this means that the whole family can play, my 7 year old nephew absolutley loves it (such a shame its not two players, me and him have a fight all the time over the wii remote)
PhilWay from Hadleigh [Highly rated reviewer] , 04/01/2008
What can I say! After being disappointed with the tedious and overlong narrative in Paper Mario, this is a true return to form for our favourite plumber! The control are just so natural after 1/2 hr playing and the gravity engine is just a joy to behold. The graphics are clean and superb and even the soundtrack isn't to annoying for a Mario game! This just shows what can be achieved with some clever, well thought out programming. You don't need a supercomputer to make fun games, just a little attention to detail. Well done Nintendo!I can't see a game like this ever being released on PS3/360.
adeling from Lancing, England [Highly rated reviewer] , 29/12/2007
It's only when you go back to other games that you realise quite how perfect this game is. I had only recently tried Super Mario 64 from the Virtual Console (I didn't have an N64) and was really disappointed so I was put off from trying this instalment. But rave reviews from friends, all the magazines and websites I could find and even the mainstream media convinced me there had to be something in it.And there is. The game is imaginative, just the right amount of challenging, innovative, varied and, well... perfect. The Wii remote (Wiimote) is used to just the right extent and is most certainly not a bolted-on gimmick as is sometimes the case in other games and the use of all three dimensions definitely adds, rather than confuses.
Matt195 from Sandy [Highly rated reviewer] , 14/07/2008
i could not wait to play this game, following the hype who wouldnt! But it was rubbish! Perhaps I did not play it for long enough, but I just could not get into it. Instead of the fun and freedom and god knows what else we were told to expect, I just could not find it. Perhaps I have a heart of stone, but this game did nothing for me.
William Brown from Edinburgh [Highly rated reviewer] , 04/08/2008
Starts out fine then just settles into a rut. You repeat ever more difficult examples of the same thing. A game should become more difficult but should also come up with new ideas to keep you interested. After an hour or two of this you realise that you are just doing longer and longer versions of what you started with and the bosses basically just need to be hit harder and more often. Looks good but looks aren't everything. And new lives are so easy to get that you know you could go on forever. Noooooo.
ChrisBarraclough from London [Highly rated reviewer] , 21/05/2008
Every 100 years, an asteroid sweeps across the sky of the Mushroom kingdom, spreading star particles across the far reaches of...okay, who gives two stuffs about the plot. As Simon Pegg would say, 'skip to the end'. The Princess proves that she has some secret fetish for overweight dinosaurs by being 'kidnapped' YET AGAIN by Bowser, and Mario proves that he's still the biggest stalker in the kingdom by going after her. What this means for you is poncing about the usual worlds looking for stars in gameplay quite reminiscent of Super Mario 64.If you've seen the trailers, you'll know that there are levels spread across miniature asteroids, each with their own localised gravity. However, these are just a few of the levels, and you'll still romp around your typical ice worlds (sliding off cliffs to your doom), sand worlds (slipping into quicksand to your doom), and leather worlds (being whipped by foxy dominatrixes to your doom). Actually, one of those might just be a bizarre dream I had...So some of the worlds may be familiar, and so are a couple of the different mutations Mario goes through, such as fireball mario, but there are some new ones such as spring mario - yes, mario turns into a spring. Try getting that along a narrow ledge with a huge black hole tearing away at the very fabric of space just below you, and very soon Exhibit A, Wii Remote, will be introduced to Exhibit B, cat's rectum. I'd have rather controlled '5 pints of Strongbow' Mario, it would have been a hell of a lot easier and involved less puking.Regardless, the Wii controls work well for the majority of actions (just don't shake the remote in rage, or Mario will go spinning off the nearest cliff), and the levels are generally fun, bar some frustrating ones. There are races and other game varieties to mix things up, and it all adds up to hours of gameplay (even if the final levels & boss are a tad easy), with lots more to do once you complete it for the first time. And it doesn't really matter what I say, cos everyone and their cat will play this game anyway...For more, check out ChrisBarraclough dot co dot uk.

Renhoek from Leeds [Highly rated reviewer] , 27/06/2008
yet agen another good effort from nintendo, as like all mario games its highly addictive and with the new concept of the galaxys its an all round enjoyable game to play. but like most marios it lacks storyline but the end of the day its mario!
DavidD78UK from Hartlepool [Highly rated reviewer] , 18/04/2008
This is Nintendo back doing what they know best making their own great games, and Super Mario Galaxy is just gaming perfection at it's best. Gamers of all ages can enjoy this game and it's so easy to pick up that it feel so natural. Super Mario is back and if you got a Wii then this title should be in your collection.
TheOrs from Southampton [Highly rated reviewer] , 12/02/2009
Quite honestly, this is the best Mario game I have played since Mario 3 on NES.You know the story, Bowser kidnaps Princess mustacheioed plumer jumps on things over and over and collects coins and stars until he saves her. Doesn't sound very exiting, but Nintendo have a winning formula here and the gameplay has predominantly been unchanged for over 20 years.still, it has the best graphics I've seen on any wii game, the inclusion of some crazy level design will bake your head at times. Occasionally, the controls feel a bit skew wiff when the character goes out of sight/upside down, but this is forgivable and doesn't happen very often. My only other criticism of the game is that it's doesn't seem to be that hard and I'm flying through it, although I still ahve to play through some of the later levels.I wasn't expecting too much from this game after playing the disappointing Paper Mario, but this is a prime example of how platform gaming should be and the fact that I played it for about 10 hours straight on my first sitting, running out a set and a half of batteries on the wii remote is surely testement to this addictive and enjoyable game.Possibly one of the best platform games of all time and definately one of the best wii games ever made, you can't really go wrong with this, its Mario as it should be.
A customer from Manchester, England , 03/09/2008
I was really looking forward to this game but was quite disappointed, it was like watching a cartoon, with many scenes like this you couldn't skip - I gave up on it after half an hour of getting no where on the game.
itfc from Ipswich , 09/04/2008
my family loved this addictive and fun game.
A customer from London , 01/04/2008
never been into platforms in my gaming life (sonic & the secret rings didnt last long in my collection) but was curious to give this classic a try...For me this is Mario in a new dimension, whilst still retaining references and styling of the classic arcade game. nice little references with the famous green pipe bonus rooms (along with bleep bleep noise) usual enemy characters and not too complicated control method.will screw up your eyes if you play this without a break tho, the 3d world is an integral part of the game design and can be as annoying as it can be enjoyable, my favourite part of the game is collecting the musical notes in order to replay those classic arcade mario tunes!
glennok from Ashurst Wood [Highly rated reviewer] , 20/03/2008
I can't say how long its been, in fact I'm not sure if I have EVER found myself breaking out in to a huge smile while playing a game. Its just gaming bliss fully of nostalgic Nintendo brilliance.Pure funLooks great too, and the orchestral soundtrack is amazing!
Paul Baker from lincolnshire [Highly rated reviewer] , 01/03/2008
this game is a great laugh. i didn't think i would enjoy it because it is not really my kind of game but it was good. nearly every night there would be myself with the controls and my wife and daughter sat on the sofa helping me.
DIZER06 from Banchory,ABERDEENSHIRE , 01/02/2008
IF YOU ARE A MARIO FAN LIKE ME WHO STILL LOVES MARIO WORLD FOR SNES,THEN YOU WILL JUST LOVE THIS GAME,ITS SOOOOOO ADDICTIVE AND EXCITING TO SEE WHAT THE NEXT GALAXY IS GOING TO BRING!!!YOU FLY LIKE A BEE,ICE SKATE,SWIMMING UNDER WATER,DO LITTLE SURFING RACE GAMES,YOUR A GHOST ECT ITS JUST AN AMAZING GAME WITH BRILL GRAPHICS FOR THE WII,ITS THE BEST GAME EVER PLAYED.YOU WILL NEED TO BUY THIS NOT RENT IT AS ITS JUST SO GOOD AND MY 5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER EVEN LIKES IT TOO AS WHEN IT GETS TOO A TRICKY BIT I JUST JUMP AT THE CHANCE TO HELP AS IM USUALLY HOGGING THE WHOLE GAME FOR HOURS ANYWAY,I ONCE PLAYED IT WITH A FEW OTHER KIDS FOR 6 HOURS AS WE COULDNT STOP WANTING TO GET MORE GALAXYS I WASTED A WHOLE DAY AS TIME FLYS BY!!!!
A customer from Westhill , 21/12/2009
Great game for the kids to play. They have to work together to achieve levels. Music can however get a little annonying.
A customer from East Sussex , 23/10/2009
never thought Nintendo could do it. How could the next Mario game top any other? Wel Super Mario Galaxy has done just that. From the moment you play, you will start to smile. That grin gets bigger and bigger as the game progresses. There seems to be a magic that hooks you and keeps you playing until the early hours. If I am being honest, it will appeal more to Nintendo fanatics that the ordinary gamer, but the game is captivatingly brilliant. The graphics are beautiful, the game is large and the soundtrack is one of the best I have ever heard in a game - only being beaten by Smash Bros. Brawl.Once again, a game more for the dedicated Nintendo gamer, but one that can appeal to all who pick up the controllers. Now, let's look forward to Super Mario Galaxy 2...
A customer from Harrogate , 05/10/2009
brilliant game, fun and exciting
NUMBER1FLANGE from London , 17/09/2009
I rented this for my daughter- she loved it and the graphics were also really nive. The fact that you are running around a big planet was also a nice change.
tigger666 , 12/08/2009

A customer from London , 11/08/2009

A customer from Northwich , 25/07/2009
So much I had to buy it!
HaydenTW from Stevenage , 23/07/2009
I preordered this game before it's release and received it on the day. I compelted it in 2 days. Being an avid Mario fan, I couldn't pass this game up, even after the not-so-fantastic-yet-still-fun Super Mario Sunshine for the 'cube. Galaxy is just amazing, the full orchestral soundtrack, the vivd and lush visuals, the diverse and different level designs, and a quirky gravity mechanic that's new and innovotive for the Platforming Genre. Mario story's always lack in the story area, but always make up for that in the fantastic gameplay and replay value. I've played through this game many times as both Characters, and enjoyed it everytime. New powerups are a welcome addition to the game, and it's nice to see some of the old-school powerups making a return. Definitely, if you like platformers, consider buying this game, you wont regret it. If this is anything to go by, Mario Galaxy 2 should be a blast.
JustAlec from Wakefield , 21/07/2009
Any absolute joy to play. Exciting, enticing and very entertaining. A few camera problems but these are minor and are out weighed by the spectacular gameplay and presentation of the game. Deserves the BAFTAs it got, even if it did rob COD4 of one.
Joefeesh from Nottingham , 21/06/2009
This game is a real feat of genius. To make a game that wows you with it's scope, beauty and amazing unique design from start to finish is amazing. It takes a small amount of time to get used to the viewing angles and gravity but after that this game feels amazing to play. The use of gravity is awesome. Some people are saying the game is too easy but they obviously haven't played through the whole game. Once you get to some the later levels (after the kids ending at around 60 stars - there are over 100 in total) you will see some extremely challenging levels. A couple of them are renowned as some of the hardest in recent years. Yes anyone can pick up and play this game but it's no easy task to get every star + there's the added difficulty of playing through again with slip and slide Luigi.Great for kids but also a MUST for any real gamer or anyone who can appreciate art design, genius level design, amazingly refined gameplay and charm that never stops.
GrumpyOldPete from Blackpool , 16/05/2009
I got on alright with this, but the wife really struggled. Not two player so we sent it back.
BigShep from Warrington , 14/05/2009
Loved this game, so addictive and Llike all Mario games fun to play and easy to use. I Was trying to achieve 100% completion I've had since December and I'm at 94%., having a break before re-try. Levels are varied in size and difficulty, get trickyer as you progress, sometimes the camera can get a little in the way. but other than that, this game is brilliant. Recommend to any one
Fastshot from Surrey , 12/05/2009
Starts of looking like it gonna be a good game then poor story and then the game start feel like it reapeating. Onse you get past the werd gravity controls the game losses it apeal. I can admit i am not a huge fan of mario but it wasnt as good as i hoped. Rent but dont expect much.
A customer from Pontypridd , 30/04/2009
This game is great for youngsters but not challenging at all if you play games regularly. Thought this would be like Mario 64 which was brilliant but it's just a very simple game with a hell of a lot of really boring dialogue aimed at pre-schoolers.Hire it if you have children but otherwise steer clear is my recommendation.
superscientist from Fairford , 17/04/2009
The only thing to say about this game is that it is super! The graphics are good for the game but some levels are quite long and hard. The whole power star thing is a real bonus because most people like collectablitty in a game(me included). There are lots of levels giving a variety of settings and characters. A lot of colourful characters from MARIO KART are included such as Toad,Rosalina and Peach.I highly recommend this to any Mario fan. 5 stars all round!
BRB from Bracknell , 13/04/2009
You just can't beat it.... this is the type of well-pitched challenge that makes the Wii a great machine.
Harvesting from Barry , 10/04/2009
I really enjoyed this game it is great for family fun. My son enjoyed the fact that he could help me on more difficult levels with player 2 mode. I appreciated the help too. Lol.
Roar2 from Keighley , 09/04/2009
You can't help but be hugely impressed with this. Vast and complicated, full of glowing, inventive graphics and situations, and a vast and satisfactory amount of gameplay (I've seen thirty hours mentioned by other reviewers). There are many very dangerous situations that require skill and ingenuity to work your way through, and when you finally do, there's great satisfaction in having done it. BUT.... if you're anything like me, you'll get zapped out several times before you win through to the next stage. No intermediate save-points means you have to repeat around half an hour's play (maybe more) and maybe several times. A good slice of that time is repeating a simple stage where you mainly just wander about collected star bits and coins to get the power/lives you'll need to get through the several planet hops and murderous encounters on the way to the next save point. My 7 year old and 11 year old both became disenchanted after having to start again for the third time, and gave me clear instructions not to waste my money on buying it! However, I stand by my 4-star rating, and would have given it 5 if only it had more save points. Be prepared for lots of frustration - but also lots of fascinating, dazzling knock-you-out imagery that makes it worth the effort.
A customer from scotland , 02/04/2009
REALLY ENJOYABLE: Great fun and clearly the best game I've played on the WII but that really doesn't say much for the WII even though this was good.
jumpingjules from Oxford , 13/03/2009
This is probably the best wii game we have rented. We made sure we had bought it before we sent it back. It is great for kids (my son is 4) , easy controls, baddies, goodies great fun. and there is so much of it. you could take a very long time before you explored all the galaxies. Brilliant.
musodoc from Lichfield, England , 23/02/2009
This is a really fun game, visually stunning 3D graphics and great gameplay with creative use of the WII remote.Don't delay, rent it todayIn fact I was so impressed that I went out and bought it after renting it first
A customer from wales , 11/02/2009
i found this game quite difficult, and so did my three children, the best thing about it was, when you play this game on your wii,it unlocks a secret character on your mario kart game,so it was worth getting just for that!!
A customer from Stafford , 09/02/2009
This game is good once you get past the first few levels, so persevere if you can. The kids loved it, but said it is not a good as the 'lego' series of games, so only 4 stars.
Twiglet2684 from bracknell , 08/02/2009
Well what can I say, it's brilliant. The graphics are amazing. So many galaxys to discover. Controls so easy to use. SOOO addictive. very un-putdownable.Just wonder from other players, How many times have you tried the, 'Sweet Sweet Galaxy'? How hard. I did manage it, eventually. SOOOOOOOOOOOO hard. One of my favourite games ever.
A customer from Nottingham , 25/01/2009
This is a great game and takes forever to complete. I got it for christmas 2007 and I`ve only got 61 stars. This game has great controls and most people in your family will like it.
GDF from Liverpool , 20/01/2009

A customer from London , 23/12/2008
I thinik super mario galaxy is a wicked game.In the first level princess peach sends you a letter.mario enters to the mushroom kingdom.Suddenly when he is half way there...King Browser koopa comes with his doom ship.He kidnapess princes peach.Next a wizard sends him to a galaxy. And when your in the galaxy you play hide and seek with tree rabits. This game is alout like mario bros. This . game is all about beating Browser and saving princess peach.Half way in the game you could be luwigi marios big brother.this reviw is from yousaf ail khan
A customer from Hinckley , 19/12/2008
this was easy fun and very enjoyable. lighthearted.
RLI from Norwich , 12/12/2008
Definately five stars for this one.The game caters excellently for different levels of gameplay - I'm hopeless at most games but I had a lot of fun with this and there wasn't too many bits that I had to get my other half to do.The controls are brilliant, instinctive and it only takes 10 minutes to pick them up.I think I kept this one for about a month - and now I've bought my own copy.
A customer from Boston, England , 23/11/2008
I loved Super Mario Galaxy.Especially the Good egg Galaxy that was awesome. You could turn into different kinds of Marios e.g. Spring Mario
A customer from Bedford , 18/11/2008
Absolutely love this game, as I Mario fan, I really enjoyed this game, different levels of fun. Some new aspects of the game, i.e. spinning are quite fun. If you enjoyed Mario on the Super Nintendo System, then you'll love this. Highly recommend.

A customer from Surrey , 27/10/2008
We in this family are only just discovering Mario and his buddies so its all new to us but it has to be said that most of 'His' games have something about them. My daughter and her friends really enjoyed the title. I being an oldie did find it a bit disorientating being upside down etc but thats part of the fun isnt it?
barmeycat from Birkenhead , 19/10/2008
really good, could play it for hours various ways of playing the game. entertaing and kept busy for hours
kelerion from Penzance , 18/10/2008

A customer from Dudley , 30/09/2008
Takes a long time to load game when you first play it. Alot of scenery at beginning. Game ok.
JRM247 from Alexandria , 20/09/2008
What can you say about Super Mario Galaxy, this is a classic combination of nintedo and the new wii concept. All the characters from the classix using the wii remote in a fun way and each level iso diverse and different. You are moving from so many different planets this could keep you entertained for ages. My daughter also enjoyed playing this with co-op 2 Player.Awesome
mirage from Leicester , 10/09/2008
I was a bit anxious when i got this in the post cuz i didnt know what to expect. But i was completely blown away! the use of direction is such a fun concept as well as the gud old mario fun!
Andreousdiscreamchi from Marlborough , 07/09/2008
First of all for the reviews that this game is for kids, rightfully so because lets face it Mario games are not aimed at adults. And all the current Mario games havent had adult content. (Would be good to see a kind of GTA style Mario game though!!!). Mario games are family fun plat-formers and this game dose just that, its fun and unique with a level by level play out. Who said that this type of game play needs a hefty storyline? In my opinion Mario games have never had storylines but yet Mario is loved worldwide! Why because he is fun!!! Itsah Mario!!!!!!ive given it 5 stars because its funjust rent it and youll seeor just let the kids play it!!! hehe
ranger1873 from Falkirk , 06/09/2008

TraceyJane from Oldham , 02/09/2008
Anyone who loves the Mario series is going to love this. The controls are great and the concept is one of a kind! Easy for anyone to pick up and play and also any hardcore gamer to love
roz123roz from Portsmouth [Highly rated reviewer] , 22/08/2008
excellent game, kids spent hours playing on it,
Selekta from Woking , 12/08/2008
This game was surprisingly entertaining and challenging. It has a classic story line and keeps you involved in the action. The graphics are great and the game play is simple and easy to pick up. It does get a little disorientating when you are running around a planet upside down and the camera angle can get distracting, but really it just adds to the challenge. This game would be better if there was an option to allow a friend to play along side as a one player game is slightly unsocial.I definitely recommend this as a rental.
clare3987 from Tonbridge , 07/08/2008
My partner and I decided to try out some Wii games before commiting to buying them - and we're definitely going to buy this one! He's a gamer and I'm not, but I found the controls really easy to get to grips with and learning all the moves. Some things I found trickier to do but all-in-all I had a great time playing it. We both found the gameplay a bit disorientating at first but got used to it and thought it added a great and different dimension to the gaming experience.Got a bit frustrated at some things, but that was due to my inexperience in gaming - partner loved it, and together we ploughed through quite a few levels in only a few days. Two player option only works if you have 2 remotes though, but we found that we were happy to share each level between us.
OxInc from Newcastle , 06/08/2008
Brilliant gaming probably the greatest game of recent years with an amazing soundtrack to match. a must rent or buy!!
carrot from Reading , 02/08/2008

A customer from Surrey, England , 28/07/2008
Kids loved it so much eldest asked for it as a birthday present.Good for arm exercise too...particulary on the swimming.
indy4212 from London [Highly rated reviewer] , 20/07/2008
There's no need to be really familiar with the storyline, it's just a great game with very clever and entertaining level design. It's very easy to get into and there are so many galaxies to unlock/bonuses to achieve that it will keep Mario fans busy (and happy) for many many hours.
CarlHenderson from Ashford , 14/07/2008
I haven't played a Mario game since the SNES days but what a welcomed return to the plumbing platform superemo this was!Its been a thoroughly enjoyable experience with amazing controls and use of the Wii remotes/nunchucks and overall it has just been incredibly fun! So many times I've just grinned or laughed out loud at the game play! Also a great nostalgia trip as you bump into all the old characters and hear the old theme tunes in a new modern format.Just amazing!
A customer from London , 07/05/2008
my children thought it was ok but had a headache as there was to much movement
Jeff1 from Horley , 17/02/2008
This game did not quite meet our expectations following reviews that we read, however we did enjoy ourselves playing it for a little while. There were a lot of similarities between some fo the stages stages. We would perhaps try it again as we did not play it enough to get a big feel for the game. We would recommend it to others, but not rave about it.
Tara from Yorkshire , 15/02/2008
Absolutely brilliant game, it even motivated me to leave my first feedback. This game keeps you entertained from the moment you insert the disc into the console. Unlike many Wii games you can start playing straight away(no painstakingly boring and long tutorials) and the colours in the game are vibrant from the initial screen. I would recommend this to any new gamers out there that like me want to just enjoy the game for what it is, and believe me you wont be disappointed.
shitbreak from Manchester [Highly rated reviewer] , 24/01/2008
I was dubious leading up to it's release ( as i prefer 2D mario games like New super mario bros on the DS, over say Mario 64), yet after just 30 mins of playing, I realised that i was playing one of the best developed and fun games since, well never actually. I am only a quarter of the game in, yet i would say, IT IS THE BEST MARIO GAME EVER. I normally at this point would tell you all about the game, but this time i'm not! Your just going to go out and buy it and then you can come back here (when you can pull yourself away from it) and you too can tell everybody how great it is. Enjoy!!MARIO MARIO MARIO!!!!!!!!
glenrothesduo from Glenrothes , 21/01/2008
This is a really good game for both young and old. LOts of different planets to explore - learning moves along the way. Definitely a game We'd buy.
Deformat from Harrow , 19/01/2008
This game is diverse and constantly changing, its full of quirkiness and every level is different. It perfect for kids and adults. Its also great because after a long day at work its relaxing, much more than my flatmates Xbox 360 shooters!
