Rated - 1 starExtremely dissapointing

Richard Barakat from Wales , 28/09/2007

I was so disappointed when I placed MySims into my trusty Wii. From the poor quality of the cursor and menu graphics/items to the annoying (and unhealthy sounding) and all together way too frequent loading times, I was put back before the game even started.

When it did start, I was presented with a cute and pretty little area to play with, but that was about it. The game is painfully slow to begin with, and its entirety has about as much depth as a squashed pancake. The mayor wants 'this' to be built. Collect 'these' essences. Build 'this' and trek back to the character to give it to her/him, complete with interrupting and jagged load times. Repeat this with numerous characters and you've pretty much got the game in a nutshell.

The customisation of your character is extremely poor, much worse than that of your Mii character (which is simplistic but great). Building houses is less involving than using duplo... and at least duplo is fun. Being able to stick apples, fish, or whatever you find onto whichever object you're building didn't involve me at all, and the ability to build freely around the basic blueprints didn't make up for any of my latter criticisms.

I really wish I liked this game, as I pre-ordered it and was really looking forward to the Wii version of the Sims. No real relationships, no families to build, need for sleep, food or even money was a big no no for me. Do not buy this I plead, unless it's for a very young child, but it may be worth the rent just to put your mind at ease and see if you agree with me.

Sorry about the rant!

This game has had alot of bad reviews by people who have rented it but i think that was a good game, making all of the towns folks house and make your own furniture was great, you could get yours and thier house looking the way you want it, i didnt want to give this game back. This game is only good if you have a little pactience as getting the essence is quite hard and if you like sims then this game may be good for you, try it.

Rated - 2 starsNot a good rent - too casual.

A customer from Sommersettttt. , 05/11/2007

Overall this game is ok. A little monotonous. But there's a high level of customization and you can make things exactly how you like.

But for rent it's not good. It's a bit like the PC sims in that you don't bung it in and work towards an objective you just casually mess round and make your house and then you get bored put it back in the case. And get it back out later. So for rent where you try and get the most out of a game in a week or less it's not very good. You just make stuff casually. I can't explain it very well but to put simply: TOO CASUAL TOO RENT.

Rated - 2 starsCouldn't quite get my head around this

A customer from Epsom , 11/12/2008

With all the inane babble when the characters spoke and awkward wiimote controls, I just did not see the point in this game.

2 stars because I guess young people can appreciate the moving things and the bright colours.

Not recommended.

Rated - 4 starsTedious but addictive

RLI from Norwich , 07/08/2008

If you like the SIMS on other platforms then you'll probably enjoy this one too. The graphics are really quite good but I found the gameplay a bit tedious after about 3 hours!

I didn't bother to finish it as there is very little variety in the game, but, if you enjoy creating worlds rather than solving puzzles then this is the one for you.

Rated - 3 starsPretty good

A customer from London , 10/08/2009

I used to love The Sims on PC years ago and this was pretty similar with obvious exceptions.

You needed to have a good hour or two to get the most of it at a time as it takes a long time to load compared to other games I've played.

Enjoyed the tasks and would buy the game.

I rented this for my daughter mainly but I am so addicted to it myself I had to buy it. Some parts are a bit slow, the scene changes are a bit boring. Making the furniture and stuff is fun and once you get used to it you can use your imagination quite a lot. Having the instruction book after I bought the game was a help. REally want to rent My Sims Kingdom next which according to the reveiws is even better.

Rated - 1 starRidiculously Rubbish

aliciaaa from Swindon , 27/03/2009

Unbelievably boring, rubbish game play

Kept freezing

Boring, Boring, Boring

Designed for what seems like 3 year olds but no clear target audience is presented.

I felt misled by this game.

Not worth rental time whatsoever.

Shame on you E.A

I rented this for my 10yr old daughter and she loved it and didn't want it to go back - in fact it has made it onto her christmas list!! I think it is more of a childrens game as it is different to the Sims game for the PC (which I prefer)

My daughter thought it was good. But wasn't exactly what she thought it would be.

Rated - 2 starsa marmite game

tadgerbear from Bradford , 07/10/2008

this is a very deceiving game as its completely different to how you think it would be. you control yourself around a made up world changing ppls lives by planting trees, growing fruit and building the whole town yourself using the creation tool which can be difficult to grasp

Rated - 1 starnot for me!

A customer from Manchester , 31/08/2008

really could not get into this game. I have enjoyed The Sims games in the past but this one was totally different. Too many information boxes all the time and so slow to get into. I do think that this game would be good for a young child. They have tried to make it into more of a platform game with many different tasks such as building your own furniture piece by piece which to me was just dull and repetitive.

Rated - 4 starsGreat for kids

Jacket from Surrey , 06/08/2008

My daughter really loved the game - the building aspect was good as she doesn't usually like puzzle but she loved making the furniture. With sweet characters more suited to her age group and nothing to complex or demanding.

cathyann from Salford, Manchester , 04/08/2008

Well it is definately a Sims game!!! Can get a little same old, same old. You do build a lot of things. I love the fact that you still get to move around and interact with other characters. I still find that you need a steady hand when building objects. I really enjoyed the game and am happy to recommend it to others!! It is FUN!!!

Rated - 2 starsPretty Good Game

Hawk91 from Southampton , 05/06/2008

MySims is a pretty good game. While for the first 30 minutes the excitement of building your own things, helping others to build there things, moving people in to different spots and designing their houses, is very good, you very quickly start to tire of doing the same things, just for different people. The game throws in little things like new tools to help you to build the town and to keep you playing, but you just realise that the new place you can get to, is just the same as everywhere else, just with new scenery...

While it is a good game that has bright and lively colours, and even more lively towns people, it does get boring very quickly.

Worth a rent if your bored.

Rated - 4 starsGreat fun!

A customer from Tamworth , 29/05/2008

This one was very popular with the kids (aged 8 and 5) - they spent hours building and changing things. Theres lots of different things to do when you are creating your town - from planting a tree right up to building a house. Great because when you are bored with it you can save it at the point you are at and return later to do a bit more. Will probably have to buy this game because the kids don't want to send it back. Great fun!

mucca from Rotherham [Highly rated reviewer] , 24/04/2008

My three girls enjoyed this game, so much they begged me to buy it for them.

Not one for adults. However kept the girls entertained, if they like building up houses like the other sims, they will like this one.

Rated - 3 starsSlightly Upsetting

ash2ka from Sheffield [Highly rated reviewer] , 09/03/2008

I am quite a big fan of the sims games (although i do now think they have milked the whole concept a little too much) but i was pretty disappointed with this... its like a... watered down version of the sims, simplified far too much and doesn't have any real sort of depth

The whole game lacks any real direction... theres really not much to aim for achievement wise which makes playing it feel a little pointless, don't get me wrong the customisation is pretty fun, at least at first. if you are a sims fan i would reccomend avoiding it as you will probably be disappointed

Rated - 1 starNothing special.

A customer from Liverpool , 29/02/2008

I have to confess to not playing the game myself but my 11 year old daughter was not impressed at all and she will play anything. She played for half and hour before she switched it off. She loves pc and DS Sims but this is nothing like it.
