Rated - 0 starsAbsolute Rubbish!

A customer from Suffolk , 27/02/2008

This is the biggest load of rubbish i think i have ever seen on xbox 360. The gameplay is awful, the graphics are atrocious and there are no redeeming features whatsoever. I feel sorry for anyone who actually paid money to own this game

If you are an achievement junkie however, you can get about 300-400 gamer points within the first 2 minutes of gameplay, so if you are desperate for a few gamer points rent it and just play the first level!

The film looks half decent, but dont be tempted by the movie tie-in unless you are really desperate for points or have nothing better to do. Even as a rental-list-filler this game really isnt worth the effort of walking to the postbox to send it back!

This game is alright for gamerscore and that is basically it. It has bad graphics and fairly confusing controls and camera angles BUT it only has 20 achievments which are worth 50 g each - they are really easy - after 4 hours of playing I got 800g

Rated - 0 starsThe Worst Game on Xbox 360

Jammie667 from York , 28/08/2008

As the review title says. Yes! Even worse than Fusion Frenzy 2!!

This is one of the most infuriating games i've ever played.

The graphics are appauling, the characters walk like they have sticks up their butts, the camera regularly gets stuck INSIDE a wall so you can't see anything until you attack someone, the final level has stupid checkpoints and is nigh on impossible to beat.

Having said all that i got 700 gamer score points from about 3 hours of play and that's without even completing the story. If you're a real achievement junkie then this will bump your score up quickly, but i wouldn't recommend going for the full 1000, you'll end up with a controller embedded in either your wall or your TV.

Rated - 0 starsGamerscore

A customer from Southsea , 14/03/2008

I rent games for Gamerscore points. BUT, no matter how easy it is to get points on this game there is absolutely no excuse for how monumentally bad this game is.

The game has 6 small levels. Every level looks appalling. Every character looks appalling. The control system is awful. The camera in the game is awful and regularly gets stuck giving you a view of a wall. The game glitches all the time - I regularly had to switch the game off as the main character seems to get caught on the edge of walls/railings and gets stuck there, with no way of escaping. All the collectibles in the game are barely discernable from the other awful scenery in the game. The fighting system is so badly integrated into the game that you will find yourself just hammering buttons -- the bog-standard enemies are a doddle to kill and the bosses are insanely frustrating.

Also - so you know - this game literally consists of this. Enter a room - kill bad guys. Enter next room - kill bad guys. Enter next room - kill bad guys. Boss enters room - kill boss.

Plus, if you die it is likely the checkpoint you will restart from is a long way back. And/or your restart point will glitch and you will have to switch it off because you can not actually move.

So - if you ever buy this game I feel sorry for you. If you ever rent it, I hope it is solely for the points and to be honest I advise against it. Pirates of the Caribbean is better than this (and if you read my Gamerscore review of that you will see I was not a fan). Rent TMNT instead.

Also - the final achievement (complete without dying) is pretty damn tough. So you may be stuck with an awful game on your played list and not actually get the full 1000 points - now that is embarassing!

This game is one of the worst games I have played this year, its looks and plays like a Play station 2 game which is not good.

On the plus side if your gamer score junkie like me it rocks. 400 points within a min into the first level. Crazy.

mjd245 from Havant , 30/07/2008

Well i rented this game as all the reviews i read stated that it was complete rubbish and that you would be crazy to rent it. Well, I have to say that their all correct. This game, if you want to call it that, is an insult to us hardcore 360 gamers and an even bigger insult to the 360 itself. As the film was pretty much pants I thought that they may have put a little more effort into the game but they haven't whatsoever. The graphics are extremely dire as are the moves. It's almost amusing the way in which your character moves around. It's like he's had too many vodka's, it's ridiculous. The fighting moves are just plain terrible. The developerss have not put any effort into the way the characters move or fight. It's a joke. It's obviously a GET IT DONE QUICK development where no planing has gone into it. Great if you want to get a few quick and easy gamerpoints but I would not even embarress yourself by having the game on your profile. Final verdict?, DON'T BOTHER.

TheCaptain from Colchester [Highly rated reviewer] , 07/05/2008

One word for this one; AWFULL. I could think of many more words to describe this game but none of which i could type here. I cant believe they were allowed to release it! The story was non-existent really even though its based on a film. The gameplay consists of you walking into a room watching a small scene of enemys wielding strange screwdriver things that fire nets come at you. You beat them up by bashing buttons and your dude teleports around them (which is the only bit thats any good) then you repeat this till your hand is numb, you fight a boss, level over. Only six simple levels and the nightmare is over, you can rest your arm and laugh in disbilief at the drivell you just wasted several hours on. Well at least its another easy 1000 points.

Game Time: 2-3 Hrs

Replayability: Not if you can help it (I did because you need to for some achievements)

Achievement difficulty: 3/10 (First 600 comes in minutes, rest a bit harder, but just use the guide on xbox360achievements.org). Probably take you 6-8 hrs to get the 1000.

Overall Score: 1/10 and thats being nice!

Nice and short here, i got 400 gamerpoints from this game before i had even played the game for two whole minutes! after this... i didnt get any for a good while. The game itself is absolutly horrible! its one, if not the worst game i have played on the 360 to date. just trying to walk down some stairs or through a small corridor will give you glitch problems throughout. i didnt bother playing anymore after this... unless you want 400 easy points... STAY AWAY.

As the title says, its quite possibly the worst Xbox 360 game out there. A typical film to console game but its just so bad words are hard to describe it. If your looking for 800 plus gamer points in a few hours then rent it but otherwise do yourself a favour and rent something else.

moomoocowsly from Glossop [Highly rated reviewer] , 01/07/2008

This is honestly the shortest game I've ever played. I beat it in around 2 hours without rushing at all, and I even got stuck in a few parts before I realised exactly how the combat system worked. It reminds me of an old low budget PS1 game, as the gameplay and level design is pretty similar. Enemies show up, you punch and kick them and run to the next bunch of enemies. Easy achievements though.

I knew it was going to be bad but not this bad. Ps1 visuals, awful controls, terrible collision detection and an hour long. The cut-scenes are unanimated comics with the best part being that they are skipable.

Avoid this unless you're a gamerscore whore, in which case enjoy another excuse to waste your time.

A customer from Aylesbury , 02/05/2008

To be honest I only rented this game because of its easy achievments, and as expected, after two minutes of solid button bashing I had unlocked 7 achievments, each worth 50 gamerpoints. An hour later and I'd finished the game with only 3 achievments left outstanding, so I play it through again and unlock them to recieve a full 1000 points gamerscore. Easy.

As far as the game goes itself, its poor. The graphics would be shameful on the ps2, let alone the 360. The gameplay is boring and repetitive, just move your character and bash the buttons.

If it wasn't for the achievments this game wouldn't even be worth renting.

As far as I know there is yet to be a game which really makes use of teleporting in a good way. This game is no except, in the time it takes you to point where you want to go you probably could have walked there. The graphics are poor, the gameplay is repetitive and pointless. It just seems like the makers weren't given enough time and money to make this game any good, they obviously had a deadline to meet or something.

I will give it the one star though as you can get 500 achievement points with little effort, even though I wasn't able to finish the game and frankly didn't want to invest the time it would take to get past the bit I was stuck on.

I did like the feature where you teleport an enemy to a random location like into a car crusher or into the path of a nuclear explosion, yet even that was poor as it happened at random rather than as a finishing move you could control.

Rated - 2 starsWoolly Jumper

Midnight from Croydon [Highly rated reviewer] , 29/08/2008

Think of this game as Soul Caliber with the ability to warp from one place to another. Even then this comparison makes the game sound more exciting than it actually is. The graphics are nowhere near as good as the Soul Caliber range and the ‘warping’ involved very rarely involves moving much further than to the other side of an enemy, which is a waste of a potentially good ability. In addition, the gameplay is so incredibly easy that it is only its repetitive nature that ever prevents you from completing it.

In short, this game is best suited for children who enjoy the Beat Em Up style of gaming due to the game’s style and its ease of playing. This game is also worth a look if you wish to gain Achievement points very easily and very quickly. In two hours I earned 600 out of a possible 1000 points. I then got bored and sent it back the next day.

Tony Hiles from Stevenage, England [Highly rated reviewer] , 23/04/2008

Avoid this 'Game' unless you are in it for the points. If you are, expect 700 for around 3 hours work. You will need to play it through twice to net the full set. I doubt many will want to. Graphics are a mixed bag. Levels look OK. They look sharp enough although they are all fairly empty. Character models are poor though and are reused for each enemy type. There is no thought here and they look like they have been animated by someone who has spent a lot of time with apes. The control system, if you can call it that, is poor. Getting your character to move away from enemies when you have begun an attack can be tricky and in boss battles can result in huge chunks of life lost. The 'Jumping' mechanic is also woefully under used here. A green light appears on the floor at your opponents feet and if you select the corresponding button on the joypad your attack lands. Thrilling. You also get to hop from place to place, when the game tells you with a giant floating cross. This is not a game that is going to stimulate the player. The games budget clearly did not extend to polishing the presentation. Cut scenes are dotted between missions unfortunately these are static, hand drawn affairs that look a little like something out of Heroes. Jamie Bell did provide his 'vocal talents' but as in the film cannot seem to decide what part of the UK he hails from. Over all then. A singularly unimpressive game that reminds us all how utterly dire and derivative film tie ins can be. Go and see the film instead. It's got Darth Vader in it.

Rated - 2 starsTerrible

Dannyisnow from Bridlington , 09/04/2008

Quite possibly one of the worst games ive played on a next gen console. Storyline is well.. pretty much non-existent , there really is very little depth to the storyline. The gameplay basicly involves tapping a, b , x and y in the order that flashes up beneath your targetted enemy.. extremely simple and doesnt provide very fun or interesting gameplay.

On the plus side , some of the 'drop moves' can be quite humurous to watch at first, for example teleporting yourself and your enemy above an erupting volcano.

The achievements are very easy , you will find yourself with 200 points in no more than 3 minuites of gameplay. The full 1000 is very possible in 4 or 5 hours max but wether you can stomach the pain of playing through the game a second time is pretty debatable... I know i couldnt !.

A customer from Staines , 27/03/2008

This game is truly awful, in fact plays like its a game that came out ten years ago. Why produce something that is so dated and boring. They obviously decided to rush this game out based on the success of the film but it has to be the worst example I have so far come across.

Read the other reviews, they are totally true. Just involves going into one room after another and pressing buttons quickly to kill enemies until boss appears and even then it's exactly the same he is just slightly harder to kill but not much.

This game is a total waste of time and the people who produced it should be ashamed.

Avoid at all costs.

Rated - 0 starsWish I Could Have Jumped Somewhere Else

HonestPraise from Paignton [Highly rated reviewer] , 19/03/2008

Insanely repetitive, Jumper is one conflict after another. The player fights, walks, and then fights some more. Discovering various collectibles is the only break from the monotony of combat, and the uncontrollable camera doesn't make finding them any easier.

The camera also breaks down the somewhat unique fighting engine. Since jumpers have the power to warp, attacks can be delivered from the front, back, or sides. Each attack corresponds with one of the buttons. When the circle beneath the enemy is green, say on his left, then that's the side to attack from. If it's red on the right, attacking there will result in a counter attack.

This is a fun idea. Hitting someone from the left and instantly moving to the back to continue a combo string carries a great feel. The player is definitely given the impact of the blows thanks to the animation.

Sadly, trying to figure out what's the front or back when the camera is swinging around is far too confusing. When you're face to face behind your character, it all makes sense. If the camera is at your side, the controls are completely different. It's almost impossible to keep track in your mind what's left or right, and the result is a countless number of incorrect, unintentional counter attacks.

The fun of warp fatalities are a neat concept in which the player grabs an enemy, warps to a random location, and leave them there. These are done via video, and do offer a fun break from the action (the car crush is a new gaming classic). However, they're entirely random. There's no secret button combination to execute them, and with the randomness, you could see the same one three times in a row. After that, it could be two levels before another one pops up.

The idea is in place, yet the execution isn't. If you're looking for some quick achievement points, Jumper is one to rent. You'll grow tired of the sub-par graphics and irritating combat, but at least you can score 500 points in about an hour.

This game boils down to well timed button bashing corresponding with on-screen information... Basically it boils down to a mixture of DDR and a third person adventure game!

The story is also lack luster at best and missing great swathes of information! Although it does have nice cell shaded cut scenes!

I will admit that I didn't really expect much from this game as I actually rented it so I could get the Xbox Gamerscore points from it, and getting 400 in the first level was helpful... But I got to 650 points and now I just want to rip my own eyes out!!! Point is though, unless you want all the Gamerscore points you can get, It's really NOT WORTH YOUR TIME!!!

It returns in tomorrows post (not soon enough if you ask me) and will be replaced by another terrible game with which I shall boost my Gamerscore with!

I wonder, how many Gamerscore poiunts can I get out of my 30 day free trial? Yes, Avatar is already on my list of games to play for points!!! Currently up to 650.

Jumper is 3rd person action game with a unique control scheme. All four XYAB buttons perform attacks on the front/back/right/left of your targetted enemy. The jumping ability from teh title is not used very much outside of combat, which feels like a missed opportunity.

The game has a really high frame rate in the early levels which is down to how poor the graphics are, we're talking on a par with titles from the early 2000's. I suppose it's not that they're poor, just not very detailed.

The camera is a mess but not completely broken. The story is basically non-existent. Yes there are comic book style cut scenes but you won't know what is going on, even if you pay attention and have seen the equally poor film of the same name.

So now the good: One play through of this game will take you a little over 2 hours and will net you about 800 gamerpoints. If you're after a boost this will help you out and won't waste too much of your time.

Graphics: 5

Sound: 4

Gamerscore: 9

Playability/longevity:2

The Game itself isn't to bad, could of been a whole lot better though. The graphics on it are rather poor and although the combat can be a bit repetitive, with only 6 or so levels by the time you get bored of it the games finished.

For Gamers after some easy GS though it has one of the easiest set of achievements to complete. I didn't have any idea what the achievements were but managed to bag myself 450GS within 5 minutes of playing, and 90% of the others can be obtained without effort.

I wouldn't recommend buying the game, however its worth renting for a day for this fact alone.

I didn't expect much from Jumper, and sure enough, it delivered exactly that.

Graphically this resembles a early last-gen game, from the poorly animated characters (of which there are about 5 different models) to the appalling 'comic book style' cut scenes.

Gameplay-wise this is like a fighting version of Simon, the 80's toy where you press the button that corresponds to the one lit up. This makes Griffin 'jump' to the corresponding side of the opponent and hit them with a melee attack, if you hit a side marked red, he gets knocked down, that's basically the whole game.

Collectibles make an appearance in the form of weapon upgrades, comic books and what appears to be random junk. Most annoyingly the game doesn't let you know what you have actually collected, so if you miss one you have to go through the entire game again without any idea of on which level the item is located.

The only things i found vaguely redeeming about this game (apart from the easy points) were the 'Drop Zone' kills, which is basically a cutscene where Griffin jumps an enemy into a particularly amusing death, there are quite a few, but after you've seen them once they get a bit repetitive and annoying.

This is an incredibly easy game, bar the bosses who can prove most frustrating. First playthrough took me about 3 hours, that's WITH finding all the collectibles, second playthrough took just over 40 mins, so if you're looking for a game with a bit of challenge that you might play for more than 4 hours, look elsewhere.

This is most definately a rental game if you're just looking to boost your gamerscore, otherwise avoid.

this is probably the worst game i've ever played but easy achievement points so if you look to achievements then rent but never buy.

My title says it all, REPITITION. Basically doing the same thing throughout the entire game, kill some guys run to next room, kill some guys run to next room. I rented TMNT at the same time as this and im embaressed to say TMNT was more enjoyable. 1000 gamerscore can be easily racked up in 4 hours playing time, but do not attempt to do this in one sitting as you will, I repeat WILL want to commit suicide. I give it 1 star rating only for it being easy gamerscore, if it was hard then it would be a fat 0 stars.
