I'd heard bad things about this movie, but I was prepared for it to be a bit crap.
This movie is NOT crap.... it is far beyond crap.... it is the stool that pebble dashes the porcelain bowl, stinks the bahroom out and leaves you with ring sting for an hour after!
This movie is not funny, well it might be... someone in Hollywood was definitely having a laugh when they green lit this drivel .
Believe me, I am not into art house movies in Russian on a Sunday afternoon. I don't give a hoot about mise-en-scene, or diegesis I enjoy the occasional cak movie but dear god I would not wish this movie on the parking attendent who ticketed my car this afternoon!
I feel sorry for the poor postman for having to carry this tripe to my door, I am planting a tree in honour of the one that died to put this turd in an envelope, I can't believe I WASTED a free trial movie on this bilge.
If you have children, they may like it if they are under the age of about 7 and ride the blue bus to school!!!
Sorry, I'll be more specific..... The baboons gave a more convincing theatrical performance than Steve Carel, I didn't care about any of the characters. How hard would it be to make me have heart for a cute fluffy animal? But no, not one! Infact I wanted the boat to sink..... and then blow up..... and then for a meteor to hit it.
The story is appauling, the acting was non existant , it was predictable and just poor on every single level imaginable and even on some you wouldn't normally notice.
Any idiot could write a better movie than this.
The sickeningly obvious in jokes are cringeworthy. (Evan passes a movie theater playing the latest box office flick 'the 40 year old virgin... Mary! ((see what they did there?)) and his wife is called Joan....of the ark!).
Bruce Almighty was average at very best ... but Evan Almighty makes Bruce seem like Citizen Kane... STAY WELL AWAY, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
