    England my England transported me back to the time of the first great English composer Henry Purcell. What made it excel for me was the combination of inspirational music and the history of the age, the Plague and the Great Fire of London. The polotics expressed by Simon Callow were mine entirely. A great two and a half hour film, I'm still humming some of the melodies.
