    Wonderful to revisit this moving and haunting film again after first seeing it in the 90's! Read Film Flaneur's excellent review in these columns for a more detailed evaluation- I agree with practically everything expressed, including the assessment that this is Schrader's best, both as writer and director.Don't expect a conventional action movie; instead enjoy superb performances from Dafoe &Sarandon; an atmospheric soundtrack complementing excellent cinematography,and all serving Schrader's dark poetic but highly moral vision. A joy!
