Billed as the best comedy since American Pie on the cover I was hoping for great things from this movie. I was greatly disappointed. The lead characters were so unlikeable that you didn't care if they succeeded in the goals or not. Scenes where the boys try to talk to girls in teen flicks can be awkward in a funny way and you really feel for the poor clumsy guys. In this movie the awkwardness was drawn out so much and taken to such unrealistic extremes that it was unbelievable and annoying and the as I mentioned you pretty much came to hate the lead character through the course of the movie so had no sympathy for him. Most jokes were too crude or obvious to be entertaining and in parts just plain gross or offensive. Even the Blu-ray menu might offend some with a graphically drawn penis with teeth on it. The only good thing in this movie were the cops and the McLovin scene. The two police officers were genuinely funny but not enough to save the movie. With better casting and a tweaked script this could of been up there with Road Trip and American pie. As they picked the extremely annoying Jonah Hill (Seth) also seen being his annoying self in Evan Almighty and Knocked Up it killed this film. Michael Cera wasn't so bad but if you want to see him at his best check out Juno. If you want to see this type of comedy done well check out knocked up, Juno, American pie, Road trip, Dude where's my car but please just avoid this movie.
