Uzumaki

Starring: Eriko Hatsune, Fhi Fan, Hinako Saeki
Director: Higuchinsky, Higuchinsky

I write this review comparing the story to the original in the comic/manga of Junji Ito. I didn't enjoy this film as much as I had hoped I would, the main reason is that the story is different, for example in the manga, the main character has a brother and a mother as well as a father, in this film the mother is dead and there's no mention of a brother, so there's only the father. Uzumaki = spiral in Japanese and that is what this film is about, people becoming cursed/obsessed with spirals. The ending is very disappointing, looks like the director run out of time, as this 2hour movie is around 1/2 of the complete story. So if you like the sound of this, I would recommend you read the comic/manga. If you've already read it, I wouldn't bother with this movie and recommend you spend those 2hours in something more fruitful. I wanted to watch the movie to see how it fared against the comic/manga, and in my opinion it doesn't do the comic/manga justice. As other reviewer's here, I wouldn't classify this a horror movie, although it has terror elements, and 2 or 3 gruesome scenes.
