About me: Well I certainly Love Film. My father was reared in the 1950s and fell in love with cold war B-Movies then Hammer Horror. When I was very young he would let me stay up late whenever one of these films was on TV (we didn't have a VCR until I was about 8). The first film I remember crying at was "Dracula Has Risen From The Grave", when Dracula was killed by those horrible kids that had been trespassing on his property. I was about 4 years old. My father would also tell me stories of a lot of his favourite films that he didn't think would ever be on TV. So when the video revolution hit the UK in the mid-80s suddenly we could rent all of these wonderful titles. I already knew how they ended so watched them and enjoyed how the storytelling panned out. This meant that from a very early age I wasn't just watching films, I was scrutinising and criticising them. As an adult I have hundreds of DVDs and could quite happily spend an entire day watching some choice titles back-to-back.

  • Ali G - Indahouse - The Movie on DVD (2002)
Starring: Sacha Baron Cohen,  Michael Gambon,  Kellie Bright
    Director: Mark Mylod
    Certificate: Certificate: 15
I wasn't looking forward to watching this film, despite being a fan of Ali G's shows.
The reason for this was that Ali G was a character invented for the purpose of making stupid people look stupid on TV, which is hilarious.
But the film moved away from this spirit and instead poked fun at the Ali G character itself, which is something I wasn't sure if I would enjoy.
But enjoy it I did. Expect no high-brow jokes here, but do watch this film if you think real people who are actually like Ali G are fit to be mocked.   1 out of 1 person found this review helpful
