Just been to see this. Had read a couple of newpaper reviews and think they pretty much summed it up. I love CGI movies, hence the reason for putting this on my list. In this respect it totally hits the mark. The 3D is outstanding and the overall impact of it and how it associates with the story is superb. In terms of the storyline, I agree with the reviews I read, it leaves a lot of holes unexplained, why are they are at war, who's fighting for who, what the objective, etc? I also found it terribly disjointed in places to the point you think the projection guy has had a few too many, with the flashbacks not really meaning anything and the viewer having to sort of guess until they make it clear. In short a bit of a lack of string to it. Towards the end its a tad cheesy as well...someone get me a sick bag. In summary though, the movie offered a couple of hours of entertainment that was neither bad or amazing, just watchable. If you like to leave a movie feeling exhilerated, asking yourselves questions, then this aint for you. Its an ok, go and see if you're free that day but not a OMG go and see this kinda movie. PS The dog was funny.
