Oh so disappointing , 21 February 2009

    This is surely the most disappointing film ever! It aspires to be a moving story with poignant acting and beautiful cinematography - an attempt at and Out of Africa stylie film - but delivers a desperately contrived and chew-off-your arm dull heap of goat doo doo!! The lead actor totally lacks charisma, the story is long, boring and unbelievable, the script is ridiculous, the cinematography contrived and pretentious and the direction seems specifically aimed at getting the most hammy performances out of the actors - who were specifically selected for their total lack of chemistry of screen. The only redeeming factor is the lighting in some of the shots - really beautiful lighting!! So, unless you have a strange desire to chew off your own arm while admiring some lovely lighting I recommend you find something else to do - repeatedly poking yourself in the eye would be a good option as it will save you from ever accidentally watching this film.   6 out of 7 people found this review helpful
