Another unnecessary J-horror in an already over-crowded genre , 30 June 2008

    Perhaps the fact that it took me six attempts to watch this film in order to finish it indicates that it's not the most gripping nor frightening horror in the world. Given that it's been directed by the same guy behind both the Japanese originals and the American remake, it may seem a bit redundant to some viewers.

    Judged on it's own merits however, there is still little to recommend it. There are a couple of freaky moments, but no real genuine scares. The characters demand little of your empathy and as the plot takes ever more confusing and incomprehensible turns, you'll cease to care about the fates of any of the characters come the disappointing climax.   2 out of 2 people found this review helpful
