Olivia Newton-John - Live At The Sydney ...
on DVD (2006)
Starring: Olivia Newton-John
Certificate:
Livvy is one of those people who must keep a portrait of her self in the attic. She still looks great and while her singing sometimes is a little shrill, she has the music pedigree to make an evening of past present and future melt into one. This concert has her little intimate backing group and oh yes the Orchestra. So she cannot really go wrong. The music is interrupted on the DVD with a trip around Sydney with memories of childhood and telling her daughter and group about her days growing up. Fine once but cut to the track list after the first showing. No Country Roads but all the rest are there, a lovely duet and some light hearted moments, memory of her illness and pride for her daughter makes this a strangely intimate concert. If you are not a fan then this will not make you one. If on the other hand if you are a closet ONJ record buyer than this is great. Go on give Black Sabbath a rest and have a nice evening in with a fine performer.
