I really enjoyed the first season of this show; while some episodes weren't so good, overall the series had a good balance of interesting stories and character development and all the characters were interesting In this season Bones has a new female boss and the predictable clash between her and Bones plays out tediously. They managed this kind of boss-scientist dynamic much better in the first season, keeping it light and not making a meal of it it, but in season two it's heavy handed. The new boss was even once involved with Sealy just to ramp up the rivalry. The worst part of all this is that the plot is now relegated to second place and so I found the episodes pretty boring; too much time was spent with arguments in the lab about how things should be done and less time doing them. Character development is fine, but the story should be the most important thing. It's a real shame, because this was a really good show.
