The opening sequence is amusing enough with Hugh Grant performing in an all too familiar cheesy music video, for an eighties pop band but unfortunately its downhill all the way after that. Grant and co-star Drew Barrymore can do Rom-coms in their sleep, but they struggle to inject any spark into this predictable film. Not helped by a threadbare script that at times makes their acting seem awkward and affected, and direction which seems ham fisted at times, I think their talents were wasted on this nonsense.
