Grimm but GREAT!!! , 28 September 2008

    I cannot understand why this film didn't do well at the box office. It has everything going for it - a fantastic story, great direction (as ever by Gilliam), an amazing soundtrack, and two fab performances by the leads.

    It has great special effects, a clever story, humour, action, pathos, drama - it has it all, in spades. I feel certain this will - in time - become a cult classic, not an uncommon occurance for many of Terry Gilliam's films (Brazil, Baron Munchausen, 12 Monkeys and so forth).

    The only reason I can think of that this didn't do well was because it's a thinking persons adventure yarn, and isn't loads of CGI with phoned in performances from the latest flavour ('pralines and diiick' to quote my favourite rock character...) of the month plastic actors. Go into this with an open mind and it'll reward.

    Trust me - would I lie to you??!
