    This is neither a good film nor a good adaptation of Will Eisner's comic strip. Frank Miller's style worked, more or less, with his own material in 'Sin City' and '300': here, it fails miserably and reduces one of the greatest works of one of the most renowned graphic artists of the 20th century to a steaming pile of foetid dingos' kidneys.

    I've watched this so you don't have to. If you're still in the mood for film adaptations of pulp comic book heroes, check out 'Rocketeer', 'The Shadow' and 'The Phantom' instead.
