i was very pleasently surprised by this film. had started to watch it not knowing what to expect and just thought i would be watching a average horror but i wasn't prepared for how tense this movie is. its not a very long film and after about 20 mins in it really starts to get creepy. there are no monsters or supernatual beings, just normal humans who terrorise two lost travellers who have to book into a remote, desolate motel after their car breaks down. Kate Beckinsale (with a very believable american accent) and Luke Wilson play the two leads brilliantly. the suspense is notched up to maximum when they are trying to escape the motel room thats surrounded by bloodthirsty maniacs looking for bloodsport. i actually found myself cheering at the end when Kate Beckinsales character Amy got her revenge on them. quite gory and violent in places but overall a really enjoyable, jumpy and unsettling film. only gripe i have was that the ending was a bit of a letdown but none the less a great film to watch
