At the beginning the film is a little trying. This I can only put down to trying to be too clever clever. Within the boundaries of possibility, there is nothing new under the sun, but having a machine that can use a satelite that can use thermal images and resonanting 'memories' from 4 days prior to solve a crime, is a little far fetched and therefore compromises the films integrity. When the machines true function and capability it is somewhat a relief to have a basic time machine/space/fabric of time/causality vs effect plot!!!!! Denziel Washington is superb as usual and adds heavyweight prowess to a lightweight production. Trying to clever for its own good and shows not how to do it. Deja Vu tries very hard to be a film like Enemy of the State but instead leaves you thinking, 'Have I seen this before??'
