Wal-mart - The High Cost of Low Price
on DVD (2005)
Starring: James Cromwell, Frances Fisher, Julie R. Lee
Director: Robert Greenwald
Certificate:
What others have said is completely true, it's a completely unbalanced 90 minute whine, and at about the 45 minute mark it gets very tiresome hearing these people go on and on about why the company sucks so much, I left it on in the background while I did other stuff. My real gripe with the film though is the absolutely shocking production values, youtube offers up homemade films of a better quality than this. I can only assume the camera man had some form of Parkinsons because some scenes are just unwatchable. The audio is shoddy, frequently two people are talking at the same time, the statistics are poorly presented and the ending looks like a GCSE standard powerpoint presentation. If you want a good documentary about a corrupt American corporation try Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, and enjoy watching how something like this should be done properly.
