This film has been the top of my top 10 for longer than I can remember.
I'm a huge fan of James Cameron, and this is the most exciting of his films. Ripley's descent into the processing facility, preparing herself for the struggle ahead is benchmark filming .. a real movie moment.
As with most suspenseful films, when you think it's all over it isn't and its becoming something of a cliche, but never was it delivered better than in this film. I don't want to spoil if for you if you haven't seen it, but "kick's ass" is an insufficient description. The final "punch up" is top notch.
A great film score just adds to the adrenalin rush.
Just describing it now makes me want to pull this one off the rack and watch it again, right now.
The best of the Alien franchise imho.
