Stuck there next to the boulder, waiting to die. I don't wish to sound trite, but the audience are down there with him, and it makes you consider your own mortality and how we all eventually die. Aron knows this, he makes a decision and it all clicks together when we realise what there is to live for. This film is pretty life affirming, however it's also genuinely frightening at times. I think the best horror in film is that which makes us think of our own mortality, and that ultimately is what the film's about.
