About me: I'm a geek with horror films, but love all films. I read Fangoria and visit bloody disgusting.com to keep myself updated on horror. There's nothing i like more then to sit at home and watch movies with some beer and nibbles. Especially horror films. I play too much x box360 too. Love survival horror. I'm odd at times with a weird sense of humor. But years of looney tunes and muppets will do that to you i guess.

First thing I have to mention is that the first movie in my opinion was brilliant.

But this movie was still good for scares, gore and shocks. Plenty of Unsettling, atmospheric scenes. I particularly liked the possessed children, they were very creepy. And the way they keep jumping out did actually make me jump a few times, I liked it hehe. There's so much tension and 'Brace yourself' moments. They worked real well. This movie is good for scares.

So even though we all know what we are up against, we are still introduced to the possessed children for a while, and that whole 'Pent house' scene was quite unsettling. The plot explains itself more in this movie, unlike the first one. As you're left with lots of questions in the first one, so Rec 2 wraps it up nicely. It's an interesting concept, you don't see 'Zombie' movies nowadays that are involved in possession or have any religious factors,so I suppose really you can't call it a zombie movie. But anyway it works really well. So I didn't see a zombie movie, I saw a demon movie. Actually parts reminded me of the movie 'Demons'. Also the two movies remind me a lot of the 'Aliens' movie. The first one we see our victims/heroes coming to terms with whats going on, with no real weapons and trying to survive the demons and one another. The second we see reinforcements come in with guns and a game plan, not knowing what they're really up against, then it all falls apart as they understand why they're really there, having to bring a specimen back etc. SO maybe the 3rd one will be just as good, maybe set in a prison or something haha Like Aliens 3.

There were a lot of parts in the movie were I kept asking questions like 'Where have all the Demons disappeared too?', there were continuous scenes of the SWAT team seeking survivors etc and the Demons were no where to be seen, and 'Why arn't the 'trained' SWAT team shooting the demons in the head'. Also I thought the 3 teenagers were a bit annoying, I didn't care about them in the least. But I have to say this, I found the ending obvious, I knew what was going on. But I still can't wait for the 3rd one.

But anyway, i really enjoyed it and will add it to my top horror collection.   0 out of 2 people found this review helpful
