    'Ella Enchanted' has potential, but over 90 minutes it entirely fails to live up to the promise. Your screen will be charmed with attractive actors, beautiful costumes and some slick CGI - but sadly, very little in the way of suspense. Without some kind of dramatic tension to hold everything together, the other elements hang together about as well as cats in a sack.

    Eric Idle and Cary Elwes alone should have been able to lift this movie to at least a passable level of mediocrity. The fact that they do not reflects less on their performances than it does on the quality of the drivel in which they are swimming.

    'Ella Enchanted' may be enjoyed by young girls, but there are better movies out there (e.g. 'The Princess Bride', 'Stardust') that will actually stand up through the passage to adulthood and development of higher brain functions.   1 out of 1 person found this review helpful
