    He is near enough the surface to recieve video downloads, and calls, (where as I live in london and struggle to get a good signal) and the odd visit from a snake, but never once just goes for it and fights his way out??

    Good idea and good start, totally let down by contrived plot devices to keep the 'tension' and story going for 90+ minutes.
    The ending you can see a mile off and leaves you basically with the feeling, 'what on earth was the point?'..

    Avoid unless you are a massive Reynolds fan, and I mean MASSIVE
