    After being an avid fan of the Dark Materials Trilogy - i've read it 3 times over the years. I was so excited that eventually a film could surpass Harry Potter- the potential for this film had be jumping with anticipation. I saw this movie intially in the cinema and thought id give it another chance. So disappointed - If you hadnt read the books you'd struggle to keep up with this plot - The First book contained so much detail and information which seemed to be over-looked. Read the books first then have a gander at the film. Oh yeah and the young actress - mis-cast - wanted to strangle her before the film was out!   8 out of 8 people found this review helpful
