(1993)
Starring: john quentin (voice), nigel terry (voice), john quentin
Director: Derek Jarman
Certificate:
Jarman's film Blue is an idiosyncratic, very simple, brave and moving piece of cinema. The screen is taken over by the colour blue, the only visual to the film, but looking at the screen and listening the screen fills with your own memories, and mingles, as Jarman speaks of his own. The mind starts to wander, like in church, rapt in thoughts of death, and at other times, the mind wanders, like being a child again and being told a bed-time story, rapt in thoughts of fun. It's a great experience, and the soundtrack by Brian Eno has been justly acclaimed for its own unique qualities. A wonderful film for people who enjoy listening.
