    A beautifully crafted film about as far removed from a Hollywood blockbuster as you can get.

    For many years British film makers have excelled at this type of kitchen sink drama with unglamorous characters and a lack of studio props but a highly original and captivating plot brought to life by a virtually unknown cast of actors.

    Two innocent youngsters making the transition from childhood to adults is a well-mined cinematic theme and it could easily have been over-clichéd or demeaned but debutant director Tom Harper gets the balance and pace just right with a gritty slice of real life combining well with disturbing undertow.
