About me: I'm an environmental Engineer, and I like my films - Horror, Sci-Fi, those little American off-Hollywood films, European Films, old English comedies...almost anything, but not Hollywood or mawkish English comdies.

Most people will think this film is crap. They're wrong. Entitled to their opinion, but wrong.

Yes there are things wrong with this film that gnaw away at you all the way through, but don't let that fool you.
There are also many many things right with this film.
The acting is good. Despite what some reviewers say, the main players are all as good as they could be in a film with such an absurd plot. (I wonder if the writers of Ghostbusters had seen this film prior to starting their screenplay) Michael Moriarty plays a very rounded anti-hero petty criminal, Jimmy Quinn, sometime armed robber, musician, coward and opportunistic low life with unrealistically wonderful girlfriend and appartment.

The special effects are of the time (poor) and dragon creature is rather badly conceived, not even matching the description given it within the film. But it's still quite fun.
The story is absurd and you may enjoy picking holes in the plot as the film plays out. I know I did.

Candy Clarke is lovely too as Quinn's super wonderful, long suffering girlfriend.

Carradine is a little wooden in places, this is not an action role for him, and he looks at times as if his heart is not in this film.

But the best thing about it, apart from Moriarty's performance, is the depiction of New York City, including wonderful aerial shots - really show New York at its best.

So sit back and enjoy - laugh at the unintentionally funny bits, spot the rather basic continuity errors, marvel at Morarity's rather fantastic perfomance. Go phwwoaar at Candy Carke. I know I did!
