On this site I enjoyed the list "the sublime in cinema". Some of these films are difficult but have a metaphysical depth that's hard to define but very powerful if you can get through the boredom threshold into some other space of being!!     This is a fascinating Inuit drama with all of the human dimensions of living together - love, friendship, loyalty, betrayal, lust, human kindness, jealousy, etc - but acted out in the (modern) technologically untouched actic wastes of traditional Inuit life. It is both fascinating because of the exoticism and because of the affirmation of human sameness in all places and situations. I was tempted to give 5* but it is not perfect - just excellent! The drama and acting are compelling and very well done - you believe it's all real. A must see - to make your own judgement.
